We, couple of 53yrs and 56 yrs old spent 2½ weeks @this beautiful Camping in August. Brought our own 5mtr motorboat, tent and rented a normal Pitch. (Ask for shade) Warm welcome, all good arranged. Very friendly staff, professional. Toilets, showers, good capacity, cleaned constantly. Nice Child- Pool + animation in middle of camping, all looks good. (We did'nt use but as I remember when our kids were young would be perfect). Allthough August is busy we experienced relax and piece. We like a bit peope around but not too much. Since this is quite compact Camping this is great. Diving centre on the camping, you also see campers bring their own equipment. I estimate 25% of the total guests. Gives sporty atmosphere. We put our boat in the comfy bay directly near the camping at a buoy for 2 weeks, trailer-slip is available, just good. Nice to do, especially if you compare this to the crowdy and expensive Lake Garda in Italia if you bring your boat. Other really nice is Pool at the pebble beach, with beds and cocktailbar where you can order small food as well. Capacity of beds ok. Not the mass-hotel style with the towels-stupidity, luckily. Could be not a bed available when you arrive after 1pm ok. Just outside the camping 3 small Restaurants, 1 Pizzeria, 1 with the steaks and 1 Italian food. Quite ok for an easy simple meal, price wize correct. Don't expect top class. For that drive some 7 km to the ancient town of Labin and make reservation @Kvarner Restaurant... for example. Which brings me to the only disadvantage of this Camping, the very quite long steep road, and if you want to do/see something else besides the Camping, you have to drive to Reijka or Pula which is approx 1½ hrs drive. If you bring your own Caravan or boat inform at the reception when you go home to bring it up the hill by Abo trailers, if you want to save your clutch. There are quite some cases known where people start the return trip after 5 km' s with calling the ANWB, ADAC or other breakdown assistance. That's not...
Read moreLocation is remote, very little around. Many of the pitches are small.Staff are all very friendly & helpful & the sanitary facilities are very clean. However..the infinity pool is extremely small & throughout our stay was over run with out of control children & teens , dive bombing or causing chaos with no control from either parents or staff. The " main beach/ swimming area , again really small and was totally taken over by the large groups of Scuba diving lessons/ instructors who were quite arrogant & felt they had the right to the sea, hardly any space if you wanted to swim. only 1 tiny bakery in the morning needing to queue for 35 mins plus as the poor lady was overworked by the amount of customers .Camp shop was extortionately expensive & not really well stocked to be honest.there was a fruit & veg stand on site which was very good & well stocked. Bistro Punta , friendly staff but only a couple of metres if that from the childrens pool, not ideally located for a relaxing evening meal.Food was probably great for pizza ,pasta but hey you get that worldwide! Local fish was nice sadly let down by the traditional delicious " chard & pototoes" they serve in Croatia , as it appeared to be frozen, very watery no seasoning & tasteless. This review seems very harsh but this was our 10th year visiting Croatia, & many , many time in Valamar Camping areasin Porec, Krk, Funtana and we have never been disappointed before , wanted to try a different site but wouldn't come back to this one. Sorry
picture attached of the scuba lessons taking over the swimming area , a better idea would be to have 2 seperate designated...
Read moreWe staied for the first weekend of May. It may have been due to the start of the season, but this beautiful campsite that is tucked away in Istria left us with a but of a sour taste. We staied in a mobile home, not everything was checked beforehand, small things like kitchen utensils and nick nacks were missing (honestly, something you notice but ignore... So if you plan a longer stay, make sure you bring some extra hime supplies). The first night we had issues with the sleeping situation, because the sofa was busted, which was a major setback. They were kind, and fixed it the next day, that doesn't exlude the fact that we had a very rough first night. Maybe don't book mobile homes for more than 4 people, especially if you want to rest. For a diving camp, i don't understand why there were not water/pipe/shower options outside of the mobile homes, in order to not mess up the bathrooms inside when cleaning the equipment. Which was obvious once we started using the bathrooms, and we were not there diving.
Overall we had a very lovely stay, will come again and enjoy the views and calmness of the area; it is obvious they keep it at high standards, but not 4 star standards. So we'll come better prepared.
The personal was beyond helpful and warm, even helped us with parking and other info... Except for the ones that were not. So, expect some attitudes, but nothing worth...
