When I first reached this guesthouse, after having missed the turning for the road a few times, I was greeted by a beautiful house, along a tucked off street with several similar guesthouses. There aren't many parking bays, so I did have to park across the street. There is probablu room for about 4 cars, so just depends how busy they are I guess. My car was very safe, even over the other side of the road for the night. ||||When I entered the property, I was greeted with a friendly lady who checked me in quickly and spoke a little English. The downstairs reception area, where there is a small kitchen and lounge area is very very dated, but quite cute considering the setting, however absolutely stank of cigarettes. As a non smoker, I hate this. ||||My room was on the top floor, 3 floors up. My room was clean and spacious and had its own bathroom. I would recommend having your own bathroom when you select the room, as I wouldn't fancy strolling across the corridor to use a toilet in the night. ||||The room again was a little dated, quite like the downstairs, but served its purpose. There was a small dining type table in the room with chairs. it was pretty warm when I was there - I had the window open all night and was surprised by how quiet it was. My room backed onto some fields and other houses nearby. There was free wifi in the hotel, but I noticed that it was very intermittent in my room on the top floor. It worked everywhere else though. Just ask the staff for the passcode. ||||It look about 7 minutes to drive from the hotel to the Plitvice Lakes National Park, which is very much worth the visit. Absolutely spectacular place. You definitely require a car if you are staying here. There is a small supermarket and a restaurant within about a 10 minute walk, but not much variety, so would 100% say to get a car. The road from the hotel to the lakes, is a pretty straight road and is signposted all the way there. I found driving from Zagreb to here extremely easy. The roads were nice and nowhere was too busy. No need to fear hiring a car here. ||||I only stayed one night here. It served its purpose and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for budget accommodation...
Read moreWe spent 2 nights here. We rented 2 rooms for two families. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were very clean. There was a fridge in our room and we also had a balcony. In the garden there was a nice grilling place, however we did not use it. The grilling place was covered, so you can use it even when the weather is bad. The owner was very friendly, he offered us beer upon arrival. Kitchen doesn't belong to the rooms, but the owner let us use his own kitchen to prepare breakfast. The place is 7 km-s from the entrance of the lakes. The nearest supermarket was about 300 metres from the accommodation, however there was no variety of food. There was a much bigger supermarket about 1,5 km-s away, The owner works at the national park, he is a bus/train driver, he could give us useful tips on where to go...
