House Petra — Hotel in Općina Rakovica

We were welcomed by honey and what I am assuming is home made liqueurs, they were very nice and quite strong! The apartment was easy to find, plenty of parking, the kitchen had the basic equipment you need to make meals. We stayed here for a few nights, we slept ok each night. The room was warm, and we could easily make it warmer by turning the radiator. The room warms up easily, which is good if like us, it rains at the lakes and you get soaked. The only thing against this place, and it is only a small thing, was that their was a slight drain smell (like stagnant water) in the bathroom, but this did not affect our stay, because who comes to plitvice to stay in a bathroom, and a bit of deodorant covered it up! I would however say that if you want to cook a lot here, then it may be wise to stock up on groceries, as the local store is tiny and has a limited...

This is a nice, clean apartment. We stayed in the 'red' room which is a studio with a double bed, a futon, a table and chairs and a small stove, fridge, sink combo. Everything you would need to make a small meal was there. Also a tea pot and coffee maker was supplied, as were ingredients. The hostess was friendly and brought us a tray with some homemade honey and wine. The WiFi works great as does the small television. ||||Two problems: Trucks and cars speed by all day and night. Road noise made it necessary to wear earplugs both nights. Also, the bed linens were rough and while there were extra blankets, none were large enough for us to share. ||||However, considering the low price, this is a good budget...

We loved our stay at House Petra. The location is great if you are planning to visit the popular Plitvice Jezera, and far better value for money than the hotels near the river.||||The hosts were the most gracious, welcoming and generous people you could hope to meet. We were greeted with home made liquors and pastries, and a fabulous bbq dinner made from locally grown produce.||||The property is lush and green, and features children's swings and a designated play area which our kids absolutely loved. ||||Our apartment was spacious and impeccably clean with plenty of room for a family of 4, aircon satellite tv and kitchenette. ||||We loved our stay at House Petra and will definitely stay here on our next visit...
