Hotel Merlot — Hotel in Općina Slivno

I stayed at Merlot second time in two years on my way from Zagreb to Dubrovnik. I liked it the first time and I loved it this time. This is as good as it gets in Croatia. Very comfortable with all amenities like in the states. The food is exquisite and the local wine is heavenly. I strongly recommend this place for anyone traveling to Dubrovnik. There are beautiful lakes. There is an ancient Roman city museum in Narona, which is 30 minutes from the hotel. The city of Opuzen itself is great. The owners and the service is very cordial. Finding good restaurant in Opuzen area during summer time can be tricky. Most of them, and there are some good ones, work from 18:00 and that can be problem when you just want to have a lunch with your family. That is why Hotel Merlot was nice sunrise. Good food nice service, and excellent vine. I came across this hotel by accident when road tripping around the Balkans...its a good find, I couldn't ask for more. Clean rooms, friendly staff - they even got us a discount at the local roman museum - but most importantly INCREDIBLE wine!
