Guest House Sandra — Hotel in Town of Rab

Nightmarish experience! First, the owners don't speak any other languages but Croatian and German. We tried Italian as mentioned in the accommodation description and also English and French however they didn't manage to communicate in any of these. The breakfast was scarce and low quality, and there were shreds of broken glass in the breakfast area. The shower sewage was not working as well as the shower curtain was too long and therefore clogging the drain. The bathroom didn't have a ventilation system and was smelly. The parking situation is a mess - while we were at the beach, they took the car key from our room without letting us know and moved the car without our consent! When we confronted the old man, he laughed aggressively in our face and then onwards it was an increasingly aggressive behaviour from them. The soap was missing for two days and got refilled only after our repeated requests. They unplugged our electric toothbrush we once left charging in the room during the day which is ridiculous! When leaving, the old man got threatening and aggressive. First he came to the room to ask us while shouting whether we used the TV or AC for the reason (we suspect) to charge us extra. He only stopped when said we barely used it. While descending on the stairs with my heavy suitcase the old man was irritated and starting yelling for a reason I couldn't understand. When we had to pay, both of them became very aggressive, and the old man locked us in while we had the cash in our hands and didn't open until the lady counted the cash. They were nearly pushing us out and shouting something insulting towards Italians for us to leave. This was by far the worst accommodation in my life bearing in mind that we have travelled all over the world. I wish we had read all negative reviews as all written is true and even worse. Avoid at all cost, going there it's not a holiday it's a nightmare! The owners will try to rip you off left and right, from trying to make you pay for using the a/c and the tv, although the opposite is advertised, to saving by not filling the soap dispenser, which they did only after we repeatedly asked after 2 days we were left without soap in the room. They will take the car key from the room and move your car without asking while you are away, like they did with mine when we were at the beach the first day. When confronted with the fact they brushed it off laughing. The breakfast is poor in quantity and quality, one day we found glass shards on the breakfast table and this tells all about the care they put in it. The worst was at the end, when they realized we would lodge a complain they became even more aggressive and threatened to lock us into the house! The accommodation was clean, and the public beach was only about 80 meters away and easily accessible. Breakfast can be added on-site, it's not included in your booking. There is parking available, but no designated parking spaces. Cars are parked in a disorganized manner in the driveway, with everyone blocked in from all sides. This is unfortunate, as it makes spontaneous trips by car—such as to a more distant beach—difficult. You may also have to move your car if another guest needs to leave, which can be a bit inconvenient.
