Todo bien excepto la piscina. Necesita una reparación urgente. Muchos detalles q corregir.

We traveled with a group of 15 and spent a week here in July, 2016. This is the best hotel in the area, but has a lot of limitations and problems. Upon arrival the elevator did not work, so bags had to carried upstairs to the third floor for some. The rooms are large with either 2 single or 2 double beds. The sheets are clean, with no evidence of bedbugs, as we thoroughly checked. There is air conditioning, but it does not work well in some of the rooms. When it rains some of the windows leak and water gets in the room. The rooms have a TV, but all do not work well. There is one TV channel that shows English speaking shows with Spanish subtitles. There is no hot water. Occasionally when you turn on the hot water it will be slightly warm. Be prepared to take cool showers. On one occasion the hot water came out brown. The water is turned off every day, unannounced, for different periods of time. It most often seems to be turned off overnight and comes back on around 7:30AM. There is daily maid service, and they do a good job. When returning to the hotel almost every day the room key would not work and we had to go down to the front desk to have our key cards replaced.||||The hotel has a restaurant that serves a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food items may be limited and are not replaced when depleted. Coffee and hot tea goes quickly, and you often have to wait some time for replacements. The quality of the food is above average. No one got sick drinking the juice and powdered milk made with the filtered water in the hotel.||||The small store in the hotel has limited items including bottled water, but when they run out it takes some time to get replacements back on the shelves. You should stock up on what you need and not wait until you need an item or it may not be available.||||The hotel has a large swimming pool that was half empty and green when we arrived. During the next three days they filled the pool and cleaned it. The pool is apparently open to the local public for a charge and is often crowded. Sanitation involves a person every night walking around the pool and adding a liquid chemical (possibly chlorine) to the pool. The water looks clean, but I am not sure how safe it is to swim in it. We did not use the pool.||||The hotel is very safe for families and children during the day. However, on several nights there were large groups of local men drinking large amounts of alcohol at the bar and sitting at the tables in the lobby area. Although we had no problems with them, I would not want my children in this environment. In addition, on one night after 10PM I saw at least 8 “ladies of the evening” coming and going from the hotel; not a family friendly environment. ||||The hotel is about a mile from the city center, so you can walk. You can also walk down to the main road in front of the hotel and flag down a horse drawn cart that can carry 6 people to the city center for 3 pesos. There are also taxis at the hotel you can use, but I do not...

On my recent trip, I decided to try the Hotel Las Tunas. I have had good results with other Islazul hotels and I figured that this one might provide welcome facilities not available in a casa particular, especially in view that Las Tunas a small place. This hotel has a good location, on top of a hill just outside the center of town. The hotel’s monolithic Russian inspired architecture is ugly and horribly dated, however this is the norm. |||| For some reason, this year the front desks at some Islazul hotel have been posting inflated high season prices, which are clearly not justified, based on their apparent occupancy rates, which probably run under 50%. A better deal can be had by going directly to the office of the local Islazul Agency, or in this case simply walk over to the Ecotur Travel Agency, located in the same complex, beside the Tienda. A basic room with double occupancy dropped in price from CUC 42 to CUC 32. Go figure (Es Cuba!). Suites with king sized beds were more expensive.||||My plan was to entertain some Cuban friends at the poolside during the day, however I no sooner checked in than they drained the swimming pool for extended repairs, right in the middle of the high season ! I was going to try to impress my girlfriend with the pool and when I showed her around the hotel, I discovered that all the water was gone out of the pool, as if a bad joke had been played on me. ||||The rooms were clean and reasonably modern, the house staff very friendly and accommodating. The rooms have TVs which carry the HBO Latin America channel, which has old Adam Sandler movies and similar low-intelligence movies dubbed in Spanish.||||There is a reasonably well stocked Tienda on site.||||The hotel had one Internet terminal available for tourists, situated in the middle of the lobby. It worked.||||The front desk staff was friendly but overwhelmed most of the time, moving at a glacially slow pace. This hotel needs a few more basic staff, such as an additional check in clerk, in addition to better training.||||For some reason, it was impossible to place and outbound local call from my room, although it was possible for others to phone in to me. As a result I had to use the pay phone in the lobby. This was not the case in other Islazul hotels where the phone worked properly and I could call out from my room.||||The breakfast buffet (included in the basic room price) was disappointing, as there was minimal selection of food items, no fruit juices, cold coffee and no chef preparing fresh cooked eggs and omlets. Instead, a server was busily occupied with tasks that were clearly redundant. ||||In summary, this hotel has very good potential, especially in view of its good location in small town, however before it can begin to realize on this potential, it must begin to offer up better services to its guests. The hotel is crying out for...

Rooms are nice and stuff is nice . The food is terrible and there is no choices .. Breakfast is nasty and it’s the same every day . One egg and old bread and a ball of meat that I was scared to even try . While we were there the change the rules and they didn’t accept cash anymore so I had to pay with credit card . From 50 cent for a beer the price change to 5$ for a beer . This hotel belong to the government of Cuba so things change without any sense …. I feel bad for the workers they are the one that suffer from the changes instead of getting tips in cash they get nothing now . The pool is nice for Cuban standard and the rooms are big and clean . The cleaning stuff is amazing and do as best as they can to help . I was on the top floor so I had no water pressure in my room but this is Cuba . One day the access keys stop working and I walked up and down 5 times before the person in the reception came up to help me . If you go there you have to be patient and understand that it is was it is ! Also There is no taxi there so you have to walk to find a transportation. I lost 7 pounds in a week I guess it’s a...
