This is a bit of a quirky place, but very comfortable. Most of our group (of nine) was in Pod B which was very nice. ||||The property has a 1970’s “jungle” theme, with thatched roofed cottages and room-pods. The grounds are lovely but it is a little disheartening to see caged birds and a sad-looking alligator penned up. There is a convenience store on-site in case you forgot anything.||||The dinner buffet is excellent with something for everyone. There is a chef preparing chicken or fish. I never made it to the buffet breakfast, but members of my group reported it was very good. ||||Each night at approx. 9pm, there is a well-choreographed fashion show. Afterwards you are free to take photos with the models. The items they are selling are good quality and very nice including hand painted cover-ups (various prices) and large painted beach bags (10 CUC). The pieces are irresistible and prices are reasonable. So take money with you.||||Locals can pay to use the pool so the public areas are crowded during the day. By around 5:00pm, they have left and the area is much quieter.||||Several of us took a taxi to Santa Clara’s main square and enjoyed walking around. Let's start from the lobby, where you can find a huge nest of bats on the top of the gazebo, that was so scary and disgusting, the bat guano were in the middle of the lobby's floor that can be very dangerous for anyone's health,. Because it can cause histoplasmosis a very lethal lung disease. When we left there was a rat in the middle of the lobby as well.
