We went here and rented two rooms for 1 week and we couldn’t wait for the week to be over.
Our room with the one double bed, smelled so bad!! I thought it was alcohol spilled on the rug that caused that stench my husband said it was cigarette smoke. Not only that, but our rug had curly hair on the floor and price tag plastic things and just looked plain nasty.
The walls had wall paper peeling off the walls, patches on the walls, stained carpet dirty sliding glass doors and balconies. Cigarette burns on the nightstands, furniture etc. it was just plain gross.
We called as soon as we got in and they sent someone in to deodorize and vacuum. As soon as house keeping walked in with house keeping-she walked directly into the room and picked off the floor the two items I had mentioned in my phone call. So either they told her or she zeroed in on it like I did as soon as I walked into the room. So to start, our rooms were adjoining but each had their own keys and 1 hallway that lead into both rooms which had a door you could leave open between both rooms and just close the main door.
Well, our main door was broken and wouldn’t lock in order for us to leave both doors open. We told a guy at customer service and he said he would send someone up to fix. Asked if we needed to be there if they could fix while we were out, told him to go ahead and fix. No need to wait for us to be in the room. Well, we spent all day by a pool and when we got back it wasn’t fixed. Called front desk and they sent someone to fix with 10-15 minutes.
The guy they sent fixed the problem but left a mess of splintered wood on the floor inside the hallway and outside our front doors. It was there for 2 days, until we flagged down someone from housekeeping to vacuum and clean it up.
The staff is trying, but there is an aparent lack of maintenance, communication from management to staff, and training.
The food was okay, but the clientele was subpar. They have children that’s aren’t trained and are playing with breadsticks from the food displays, getting food with their hands, and taking serving utensils and dropping on the floor.
That doesn’t only include the kids, but also the adults, a guy next to me at the buffet got a pair of tongs and got a piece of pineapple and just used it to put into his mouth. I thought I was going to throw up. Speaking of which, my son did end up getting sick and threw up from 11 pm to 8 am one of those nights he threw up over 9 times. We called for a doctor to see if they could bring some medicine and they sent up a paramedic who couldn’t do anything but tell us, take him to the hospital. What could have made him sick?? I had an allergic reaction and asked to see a doctor and they said they didn’t and I asked for medication and they told me they would call 3 possible pharmacies to see if they had the meds, I’m still waiting to hear back from them.
There was babies in the adult pools with regular diapers, animals eating from the buffet, the staff was trying desperately to keep the place clean but the guests there are animals.
The cigarette smoking is almost everywhere, like it’s right by the entrances of the hotel in different areas, why put them by the entrances?? That smell gets inside the lobby and other areas!! Not everyone smokes and not do they want to die from second hand smoke!!
For an all inclusive resort, the sure lacked resort style amenities, or entertainment.
The cafe (cannoli) had a display of cakes and was never open, not even once in the week we were there. The bar lounge was a ghost town, they should do tours of that and just say it’s famagusta! No need to go there because that’s the real ghost town.
As far as entertainment, they had one show they advertised and we went to see the Turkish pop star and it was nice, but everyone was smoking in a closed ac area. We left smelling like ashtrays. And for any one saying, well it’s an adult show, no the place was full of kids and the parents were oblivious to the fact that they are flicking ashes on them or...
Read morethis is what I'm going to post as a review for the hotel:
Overall, we had a pretty good time at the hotel this week. The staff were a real highlight – everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to help. We especially liked their 24/7 WhatsApp service. Anytime we had a question or needed something, they responded quickly and sorted it out. This was incredibly helpful.
The cleaning service was excellent. Our room was always spotless, and they provided everything we could possibly need. Whenever we asked for extra towels, they arrived very quickly. One evening, we had left the "do not disturb" sign on our door all day. When we called for towels, the staff member who brought them also kindly offered to fully clean our room, even though it was late. We really appreciated that.
The food at the main restaurant was delicious, with a wide variety of choices. The restaurant's opening hours were also convenient, so we never had trouble finding a time to eat.
The hotel has many pools, which was great, and there were good options for children. We also enjoyed the nice beach.
However, there were a few things that could have been better.
Regarding food, the main restaurant was the only real option. There's another small restaurant called "Leaf" next to it, but it's only open for a very short time, just 45 minutes between 5:00 PM and 5:45 PM. One time, we were eating there, and just two minutes after they were supposed to close, around 5:47 PM, we asked for a can of Fanta. It was a simple request, and we could have easily gotten it ourselves. But the waiter told us, "Our service is done, and we're closing in 5 minutes, okay? Thanks for understanding." Frankly, that wasn't very understanding of them.
Another point was that all drinks outside the main restaurant had to be paid for, even soft drinks. This didn't make much sense to us. In theory, we could have taken a Coke from the restaurant to the pool, but that's not practical. It would have been much better if simple drinks like soda were also available free of charge near the pools.
In the evenings, there wasn't much in the way of entertainment. There was some quiet music at the bar, but of course, you had to buy drinks if you wanted to sit there.
The kids' club ("Miniclub") looked like it had a lot of activities on paper, but in reality, it was a bit disappointing. Because there weren't many children around, some of the staff didn't seem very enthusiastic. We often had to ask them if they were actually doing the activities listed on the schedule. One time, we took our kids to an origami session. The instructor gave the children a piece of paper, showed them a couple of quick folds, and then said something like, "Okay kids, do this, then this... Okay, thank you for participating," and that was it! The whole thing lasted less than five minutes. We had gone to the trouble of getting the kids ready and walking all the way from our room for such a short activity. It felt like the staff member didn't take us seriously, perhaps because we were foreigners and didn't speak the local language well. It seemed like they thought we would just accept whatever they offered. While there were some other professional staff members at the club, the activities weren't very engaging, and I often struggled to find things for the kids to do. They were bored a lot of the time and wanted to go home.
We also tried the hotel's game center, which you have to pay for. Unfortunately, many of the games were broken or just took our money without working. We did get our money back when this happened. We also had some problems with the bowling game. Overall, the game center could really use an update.
In summary, the hotel is generally good, but it might not be the best choice for families with young children who need a lot of...
Read moreWe recently stayed at the Elexus Hotel during the 11th National Medical Oncology Congress and were profoundly disappointed with nearly every aspect of our experience. Despite hotel policies that supposedly do not charge extra for children three years old, we were unexpectedly billed additional fees because we were part of the congress, highlighting a lack of consistency and fairness in their pricing. The room provided was fundamentally unsuitable for families with young children, featuring unnecessary stairs that posed a safety risk. The comfort of the beds did little to offset the discomfort of the overall room setup. Furthermore, we were greeted by an unrefreshed minibar upon arrival. To make matters worse, we were charged for an item from the minibar that had been consumed prior to our stay, despite having reported this discrepancy to room service. It was disappointing to see that not once was the minibar service available during our visit, forcing us to go out of our way to bring in basic necessities like bottled water. Housekeeping services left much to be desired with their lackluster cleaning, which barely met minimal standards of hygiene. Additionally, the repeated failure to provide adequate towels and basic toiletries for all registered guests in our room was frustrating. We also encountered significant electrical issues in our room on multiple occasions, each time requiring lengthy waits and multiple requests to get them resolved. Moreover, the hotel experienced several general power outages, causing inconvenience and even damage to our electronic devices. It was disappointing to discover that the spa did not provide basic bath sponges or scrubbers, essentials for a complete spa experience The dining experience was equally disappointing. Essential children's meals, like pizza, were absent from the menu, and the ice cream available was of very poor quality, barely recognizable as such. The coffee served was undrinkable, lacking any option for filtered or espresso-based variations, which significantly diminished our dining experience. Additionally, meals that were meant to be served hot were often cold, adding to our discontent. The mini-club, 'Jungle,' was one of the few positives, providing some entertainment for children. However, the limited variety of toys and unsafe structures within the play area were concerning. The indifference displayed by some of the staff overseeing the children starkly contrasted with the commendable efforts of a few like our play brother and Ms. Özge, whom we thank sincerely. The performance of the customer relations officers was particularly disheartening. They seemed more interested in giving the appearance of activity and concern rather than addressing and resolving the issues we raised. Their actions—or lack thereof—contributed to the sense that our grievances were neither taken seriously nor treated with any urgency. Our departure was marred by a checkout process that was both dismissive and rude. We were instructed to wait for an unnecessary room inspection, conducted under the pretense of checking for missing items. This process was not only humiliating but also inconvenient as we anxiously awaited our transfer, watching the minutes tick by with growing frustration. In conclusion, our stay at the Elexus Hotel was marked by a series of disappointments and frustrations. The lack of attention to guest comfort, safety, and satisfaction was glaring. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hotel, nor would I consider staying here again. The cumulative effect of these issues has led us to seek other accommodations in the future that better understand and respect the needs of...
