House of Roses — Hotel in Agios Mamas

Avoid this property at all costs – misleading, uncomfortable, and poorly maintained!

We booked 2 nights for €440, expecting something remotely close to the photos. The owner sent us a contact number for someone named Costas, who met us and let us into the so-called "House of Roses." Ironically, there wasn’t a single rose in sight – and that was just the beginning.

The house is old, neglected, and dirty. There was dust everywhere, stained couches, broken furniture, and extremely old air conditioning units. One of them wasn’t working at all. Costas, who was at least polite, told us someone would fix it the next day and we’d be compensated €120. Spoiler: we weren’t.

The next day, a so-called technician showed up for five minutes and completely broke the unit. From that point on, we were ignored. No working AC, no compensation, and no help from the owner, who conveniently disappeared.

We were forced to spend two nights in an unbearably hot, damp room, feeling scammed and helpless. It was miserable.

Booking.com should seriously reconsider allowing this property on their platform. The owner clearly has no respect for guests or the home. It felt like a trap – beautiful photos online, but the reality was completely different.

If I could give House of Roses more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. This place isn’t just an Airbnb — it’s an experience, a sanctuary, and a memory waiting to happen.

From the moment we arrived, we were wrapped in warmth, charm, and tranquility. The home is even more beautiful than the photos (which we didn’t think was possible!). Every detail — from the soft linens and cozy lighting to the fresh flowers and thoughtfully curated decor — made it feel like a dream.

The garden? Straight out of a storybook. Roses of every color, butterflies floating by, birds singing in the morning — it was like nature’s own lullaby. We spent hours there just relaxing, reading, sipping wine, and soaking in the peace. It’s the kind of space that heals you without you realizing it.

The hosts went above and beyond — responsive, kind, and genuinely invested in making our stay unforgettable. They left us local treats, thoughtful recommendations, and even handwritten notes that made everything feel personal and special.

Location-wise, House of Roses is perfectly tucked away for privacy, but still close enough to everything we needed. Whether you’re looking to explore the area or stay in and completely unplug, it’s ideal.

I can't say enough good things about this incredible rental! The location is absolutely breathtaking, nestled right in the mountains and surrounded by peaceful forest. Waking up to the sounds of nature and the fresh mountain air was a dream come true. Whether you're looking to hike, relax, or just disconnect from the chaos of everyday life, this place is exactly what you need. The house itself was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. You can tell a lot of care goes into maintaining it. The host was exceptional. Warm, welcoming, and always quick to respond if we had any questions.
