A wonderful story, with a history of 300 years old, we find here in Lazania, told by an extraordinary man, Costas. We walked curiously and enchanted by the beautiful view of a museum house, restored by his skilled hands. This man, Costas, is a miracle man, who tells his story, about his family, his ancestors, the Cypriots. I, for one, was enchanted by the moonrise over the mountains, by the sunrise, by the room traditionally arranged so clean, splendid! I was amazed and delighted by the museum, that is, the house transformed into a museum, where the things and pictures of his parents- in law, such old objects, can be found. Then, the goats that Costas takes care of and loves them. Not to mention the delicious dishes that Costas offered us. I'm vegan, and Costas cooked only vegetarian goodies for 6 people. Delicious! I tasted the red wine he made which was excellent. What a wonderful man! If you want to be in the middle of nature, in the mountains, in a perfect silence, in an extremely warm, welcoming, clean and full of story place, here is the place. Thank you, dear Costas, for the wonderful man you are, for your friendship, your vitality and energy, your gentleness and hospitality! God bless you! We will come back. Maria...
Read moreHouse with soul. A big part of this soul is the owner of the house. His warmth, hospitality and variety of talents make this place special. It's a small and very quiet village in the mountains. Far from crowd and noise. Ideal for mountain trekking or exploring interior of the island. House is old but renovated recently. Room is clean and no any strange smell was noted. It's equipped with everything needed. Only drawback we noticed is it's size. Very compact. Summer time it is no problem because there is nice terrace with table and chairs. We visited this place in February and it was too cold to enjoying fresh air after sunset. If you like quiet and unusual places, if you want to find out about traditional Cypriot life, it is a perfect...
Read moreA wonderfully cosy, comfortable, Christmas getaway. We had some beautiful sunny mornings sitting out on the terrace with spectacular views and the sounds of a nearby stream which was extremely relaxing. Whilst, a short distance away there was snow on the top of the mountains!
You need to travel to get to some of the most touristy spots which can be an hour or so away on the windy mountain roads, but there is plenty to explore in the vicinity too - the host is more than happy to recommend somewhere to go.
The hospitality is second to none, with cypriot tea and coffee on tap!
The only downside is that the bathroom is quite small but we didn't spend too much time...
