Noah's Ark Hotel absolutely does not meet 5-star standards. A local guide told us that all hotels in Northern Cyprus are 5-star, because a casino and two swimming pools are enough to give it a 5-star rating. The service left much to be desired. The travel agency sold a holiday for a family of four, but the hotel doesn't have rooms for four. A baby cot was provided for our almost 5-year-old daughter, but the hotel refused to provide a regular bed because it's against their policy (I was informed at the reception). No one informed us that our daughter wouldn't have a bed. Our daughter's bedding was delivered upon request after 24 hours of arrival (August 5, 4:00 PM). The room wasn't made up, and there was no soap in the shower (replenished upon request on August 5, 2:00 PM). In a 5-star hotel, our room had a wall that looked as if someone had vomited on it. At check-in, there was no information about meals, hotel layout, etc. – this made navigating the vast hotel grounds very difficult, and there was no information about meal times. The reception, who didn't speak English (conversations were conducted through a Turkish translator), dismissed the matter, claiming it was the resident's responsibility to provide information. We had to meet with the resident the day after arrival at 2:30 PM. Until then, we had to search on our own, as the hotel staff lacked basic information and communication was difficult. At the hotel's request, our suitcases were left at the reception desk and were supposed to be delivered to our room in 10-15 minutes. They arrived only after a decisive intervention at the reception desk three hours after arrival (August 4, 9:00 PM). They were no longer available at the location where we left them. They were quickly collected, but the transfer took three hours. There was no way to change the children's clothes or freshen up. The very noisy air conditioning made it impossible to sleep (repaired after intervention on August 5, 1:00 AM). The day after arrival, towels were taken away during cleaning on August 5th, no new ones were left, and there was no opportunity to wash during the day. The explanation was that the laundry hadn't had time to wash them – remember, we're talking about a 5-star hotel! (They were delivered after an intervention at the request of August 5th, at 4:00 PM). The air conditioning in the bus that took us from the airport to the hotel didn't work. We feel cheated by the travel agency, which sold a vacation for a family of four in an expensive hotel that doesn't even accommodate four people. We weren't informed that one child wouldn't have a bed. We would have chosen a different hotel that would have allowed for a comfortable stay.||The meals were supposed to be ultra-all-inclusive, which is not true, as the hotel doesn't have snack bars that can be used outside of mealtimes. Two bars, including one by the pool, are available for an additional fee. The hotel is designed exclusively for the Turkish people who flock to it for their holidays. Europeans are "there because they are," but we're certainly not the most expected guests, as was evident, for example, during the bingo games conducted exclusively in Turkish—the first time I've encountered such a thing—or from the written announcements in Turkish. The hotel lacks the evening entertainment we were hoping for. There's music at the beach bar, and that's it. The hotel's potential is wasted—they have a beautiful amphitheater with a fabulous sea view, and absolutely nothing happens there. A tarp with the hotel logo has been dropped to the ground (which probably meant something was happening earlier), and now there's not a single show.||The water park is open for only four hours a day—from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. There are no lifeguards in the water park or pools. The hotel is beautifully situated, green, and has a large area, but the service and the information provided above mean I definitely won't recommend it to anyone. I'm very, very disappointed with the optional excursions, or rather, the lack of interesting options. Resident Inga doesn't offer much encouragement, nor does she offer a full offer, "because a group won't gather anyway." A trip to Nicosia is a complete mistake (stop at a store, travel to Nicosia for 3 hours of free time, return through a local village...
Read moreour years ago, I stayed at Noah's Ark Hotel, and it was a completely different experience than now. |Every time we travel somewhere, I do my research and read reviews. |Even though the hotel didn't have such good reviews, I decided to give it a try because everyone has different tastes, and I really liked it last time. |We arrived at the hotel around 11 a.m. after a 2.5-hour bus ride. The rooms weren't ready (until around 3–4 p.m.), but we were free to move around the hotel grounds. |Food: |terrible, everything was greasy, processed, cheap. The food always tasted the same. The selection never changed. Almost no meat. Dirty dishes (glasses, plates, cutlery). In the refrigerators, where they offered Coca-Cola, Sprite, and Fanta, something smelled bad, and sometimes the smelly liquid got on the cans. |Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were always the same, with only minor variations. |Accommodation (Holiday Village): |The worst we have ever experienced, literally gambling with our health. |Mold everywhere (shower, air conditioning, walls), no one in the hotel ever cleaned anything. |Musty bedding, towels, dirty glasses. The refrigerator did not cool at all. |The mattresses were soft and worn out. There was a door with a screen on the terrace that someone had apparently forgotten to clean up. One night, I even had insects crawling on my bed. The power kept going out, which is not pleasant when you're in the shower and it's dark. The internet kept going down, with| So people who wanted to work here did so in vain. |Staff:|Completely unprofessional, unhelpful. No one there speaks English. You complain about something and they agree with you, but then nothing happens. |Several times they didn't change our towels, and at the reception they ignored us instead of taking action. |Beach and sea: |The only thing I can praise is the sea (which the hotel has no influence on), the beach is also nice, but terribly dirty, no one cleans it. |Bars: |Everything was warm, there were branded drinks, but the drinks were terribly sweet and quite similar. The ice was apparently made from local water, as we always had stomach problems from the drinks. |Surroundings: |There is nothing but wilderness within 25 kilometers, so you have to rent your own car (which is what we did) or you will be offered three overpriced optional excursions. |Summary:|We returned from our vacation angry, disgusted, with stomach problems, and completely unrested. This trip convinced us that we would never travel with Bluestyle or to Cyprus again. |I documented the whole thing, wrote it down, and filed a complaint about the trip based on the health risks to me, my partner, and other guests. |On the first day, we asked the front desk to change our room, which happened on the second day. The new room was smaller, still had mold (albeit in smaller concentrations), and the air conditioning only worked up to a certain temperature. ||If you are deciding whether to purchase this trip, I definitely do not recommend it (and I mean that seriously). Choose another hotel (Artemis, Salamis). It is not worth 27,000 CZK per person. This is truly...
Read moreAt the hotel, while walking in the common area in the garden, I fell from a 15 cm step due to the unlit lights. Both my foot and knee were fractured. Using our own means, we went to the hospital; my foot was cast, and a knee brace was recommended. After returning to the hotel at 4:00 AM, we couldn’t reach the reception for an hour to request ice packs. My wife had to leave me alone in the room, in pain, to go to the reception to ask for ice packs. The next morning, no official called us to ask about our situation regarding the previous night. They didn’t even wish us a get well soon.
o Why weren’t the lights on in the common area of the garden? It was exceptionally dark, and we only noticed the swelling after reaching our room. o Shouldn’t there be a barrier or a warning sign for the step? If there are electrical issues, why haven’t they been addressed? Is this a case of “safety negligence”? Who is responsible for ensuring proper maintenance? o The next day, my wife informed the hotel official that the lights were not on, emphasizing safety negligence. She also mentioned the need for a medical device due to increasing knee swelling. o Shockingly, the response we received was, “Inspections were done, and the lights were on. You’ll have to get the medical device yourself; the hotel won’t provide it.” I want this official to prove that the lights were indeed on. Our videos and photos clearly show the darkness in the garden and the unlit lights. o I want to ask the same official how it feels to leave us stranded in a foreign country, even forgetting our basic needs like food, while we desperately tried to obtain the necessary medical device. o The day after the incident, we pointed out that the lights were still not functioning. We highlighted the danger: a child running in the dark might miss the step and suffer severe injuries, even brain hemorrhage or worse. o Interestingly, repairs were suddenly made to the lights in the evening, and the power tripped twice throughout the hotel. If there were no electricity problems, why were repairs necessary on the evening of May 23rd?
We would have planned to come with a group of 7-10 family members later this place. However, given the poor standards, we find it difficult to entrust our loving ones to such a place. When quality of the work is compromised, it can lead to significant incidents, including accidents, injuries, and even fatalities. For those considering a vacation with their child, it’s essential to recognize that if anything were to happen, there might be a lack of assistance. Instead of offering assistance, you might hear the dismissive advice to ‘take care of yourself’. Quality and safety should always be paramount, especially when it comes to the well-being of guests and...
