This is review for the restaurant only. We got taken here as part of the tour, perhaps that should have been a warning as at least 2 other bus loads joined us for lunch. The "buffet" style lunch was €12, drinks on top. The savoury portion was actually not bad, though zero options for pescaterians, and 1 option of dull looking overcooked vegetables, reheated, not so fresh looking, roast potatoes, and rather tasty and super fresh salads, for vegetarians. For meat eaters, it was much better news - moussaka, lamb casserole, some sort of oval shaped meatball type things, super tasty. Souvlake so dry (probably after numerous reheating) my dog wouldn't eat it. The dessert choices were cynically exploitative, and plainly laughable - besides semi dry apple bake type "cake", it was cheap and nasty shop thins, knock-off oreos biscuits and, mostly gone off, oranges. I picked up 4 rotten ones before I found one that wasn't. The very average brown water passing for an espresso coffee, charged at a whopping €4. Apparently buffet is all you can eat, but as i said earlier, if your choices are limited, then it's really of no joy to you. I would avoid this place unless you are starving, and even then, perhaps stick to a la carte (though unfriendly owners looked positively annoyed when some in our group opted for something smaller off the menu). I saw when I came out that it is hotel and a restaurant, and perhaps it says it all, taking tourists "for a ride" in a stretch of road with 2 restaurant choices, where all the buses stop. As cynical and rip-off as Kykkos monastery restaurant was, at least they managed to smile and the view from the balcony is to die for. Here nothing of the sort, dreary, cold old fashioned room, with such a rickety stair rail to go to facilities upstairs, it would have been done in by health and safety authorities in Australia or anywhere in Western Europe years ago. I felt sorry for the elderly customers who had to hold on to it to get up and down to use the toilet. Cyprus has wonderful food, and super friendly hospitable owners, unfortunately not at...
Read moreIn general Hotel needs a good clean up, renovation and serious professional training for staff. For the owners is good to learn at least basics of hotel businesses running and especially guests relations. Is the first place where our room never was cleaned for the stay of 3 nights and where at the check out the reception denied card payment and asked to pay with the cash, and the cherry on the top of it THEY DID NOT GIVE A RECEIPT. The room we booked through Booking.com was like a storage with a small window and with NO HOT WATER (on my comments that is not the room I saw at the pictures which they provided on Booking, they stated that they don't have pictures of that room..Seriously now?...) So when we went down and said we Pay for our stay but we want to leave right now. They offered us to stay in another room. We accepted. BUT they did not say anything about EXTRA charges about which we found out AT CHECK OUT after 3 days of staying there..Inappropriate, offensive and very low profile behaviour. I am an Ambassador from big organisation in Italy responsible for Cyprus, I presented Cyprus on International Expo 2020...shame...shame..shame...and I am also a Cyprus passport holder... no more...
Read moreThe bed was comfortable but that was the only positive thing we could say about the room. The carpet was so bad, dirty & with several burn marks, we didn’t want to walk on it. The wardrobe & bathroom were dirty - we couldn’t put anything on the wardrobe or bathroom shelf. We stayed for 2 nights & only had luke warm once for showers, the rest of the time it was freezing cold, despite the warm weather. There were several broken tiles & a broken towel rail. The curtains were extremely thin so as soon as the sun rose we were woken up. It took 10 minutes to find someone to check in & check out. We had a bottle of red wine on both nights at the restaurant, taken from the shelf marked €12. On the second night, after we’d paid for it & opened it, a member of staff came along & tried to get more money from us, saying it was €20. Due to the cherry festival it was extremely noisy & the on street parking was extremely difficult. We personally would not stay in this hotel again as even at €45 a night this hotel has a long way to go before offering...
