Hotel Vír — Hotel in okres Žďár nad Sázavou

My son and I stayed here for one night for a visit to Pernstejn Castle, 20 minutes away. This is a pleasant, modern hotel set in the heart of beautiful wooded countryside in Moravia - the Eastern part of the Czech Republic. We had driven here from Prague, and the last 45 minutes or so of the journey when we left the motorway took us through some gorgeous landscapes. ||||The hotel itself is located in a village about 50 kms north of Brno, in a fairly small village on the banks of the river Svratka. The terrace outside the restaurant, the hot tub, and the small swimming pool are set right next to the river, perfect for getting the most benefit from the location.||||Inside, the rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Our room (and I think most of the rooms here) had two areas: downstairs was a lounge, with a sofa / bed, fridge, and toilet; and upstairs, a double bed and bathroom with shower and a second toilet.||||The hotel offers a restaurant with a modest menu (but large portions), a small gym with lots of equipment, table tennis, a sauna, and massage facilities - massage needs to be booked in advance because the massage staff come in from outside.||||The staff all spoke English, and were unceasingly helpful and smiling - a credit to their profession.||||Tip #1. This is a remote location. There are no shops, restaurants or other amenities locally, so you will need to drive elsewhere to find these. On the other hand, it's perfect if you want to be away from it all. There is, however, a good wifi connection.||||Tip#2. We wanted a taxi to visit some friends staying in another hotel some miles away, but the taxi driver also has some other occupations, and was not immediately available. Book in advance if you need to use the taxi service.||||Tip #3. Because this region is so remote, and the village is small, there is virtually no light pollution. This means that on a cloudless night like we had, the view of the stars is breathtaking.||||Tip #4. Pernstejn Castle is awesome, and well worth a visit. It's about a 20 minute drive to the South West. We stayed there for a family reunion last Friday. The rooms there were very clean and spacious, two floors the big king size beds, one bathroom on the top floor and a separate toilet on the ground floor. Food was very good, I had flank steak which was delicious, but you really have to make sure to tell them, you want it medium rare to get it actually medium. Their selection of wine is perfect, beer is also good and breakfast was great. From cereal, fresh fruit, eggs, sausages, yogurt, bread, cheese, jam, just whatever you wish for. The surrounding of the hotel is gorgeous. You can take many day trips and I suggest to visit very old castle named Pernštejn and hydraulic power plant named Vír. V rámci teambuildingu jsme vyrazili na Via Ferrata Vír. Ubytování jsme si dlouho předem rezervovali v Hotelu Vír. V emailové komunikaci nám byla nejdříve nabídnuta široká škála večeří, které nám jsou ochotni v hotelové restauraci připravit. Avšak s blížícím se termínem našeho příjezdu pan majitel začal měnit cenu nabídky jídel a i škála se dosti zmenšila. A tak jsme se rozhodli povečeřet jinde. Den před příjezdem mi pan majitel volal, jestli nám může změnit pokoje pro 3 osoby na pokoje pro 2 osoby. Vyšla jsem mu vstříc, protože nám to bylo jedno. A teprve v tuto chvíli začal také snižovat nabízenou cenu večeře. I tak jsem ji odmítla. Pokoje byli hezké, čisté a nově zrenovované. Zde jsme neshledali jediný problém. Pan majitel nám opětovně pokoušel (téměř již vnutit večeři). Slušně jsme odmítli a šli na večeři jinam. Po večeři jsme se vrátili na hotel a byli přizváni do restaurace, kde nám nabídli něco k pití a po necelé hodině jsme museli restauraci opustit. Ranní snídaně - neurazila ani nenadchla. Pan majitel byl velmi hodný, a protože věděl, že jdeme na ferraty, tak nám dovolil nechat si osobní věci na pokoji. V telefonu mi říkal, že nemusí chystat pokoje pro další návštěvníky, a tak mu bylo jedno, jestli si věci odneseme v 11:00 nebo v 15:00. Největší problém nastal ve fakturaci. Při odjezdu jsme prosili pana majitele o vystavení faktury. Tu nám nevydal a že ji pošle. S tím jsme souhlasili. Avšak pak jsme vůbec nevěděli, co se dělo. Až do začátku ledna, kdy jsme si fakturu vyžádali zaslat emailem. Pan majitel nás obešel a fakturu zaslal rovnou na naše účetní oddělení. A bylo pro nás velkým překvapením, že se na faktuře nacházela i částka za večeři, kterou jsme neměli a několikrát ji zrušili.

Hotel jako takový byl fajn. Neměli jsme s ním žádný problém. A i když byla domluva trochu kostrbatá, tak jsme si celý pobyt užili. Zjištění, že nás pan majitel obelhal nás trochu vyvedla z míry. Chyby se dějí, ale nevěřím, že se tato chyba stala neúmyslně. A osobně jsem velmi zklamaná, že už jen z principu takovou věc...
