We recently stayed at the Orea Resort with our two kids, aged 7 and 12, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience for all of us (me, the kids and their grandmother) Both kids had a great time—our 7-year-old even said she would love to stay here for a whole month! And 12 year old wants to go on a holiday to Orea again!
While the accommodation is on the pricier side, it’s definitely worth it, especially for families with children. There are plenty of activities to keep kids entertained, including mini golf, a playroom, fun animation activities with Eliska the Fox, and a swimming pool.
The pool area could use a little refresh, and more seating options beyond couple of seats and benches would be great, but we understand space is limited. We appreciated the toys, balloons, and kid-friendly pool accessories, and the atmosphere was very respectful and relaxed, with only about 10-12 children in the pool at a time.
Our 12-year-old, who is gluten-free, found suitable breakfast and dinner options every night, which was a relief. The only small downside was that desserts for him were limited to panna cotta daily—some additional variety at breakfast (for gluten free bread since the one they offered wasn't very tasty) and dessert would be a nice touch. The food overall was great, with a dedicated kids’ buffet area where they can serve themselves, which made mealtime fun and easy.
The sauna and relaxation areas were a highlight, especially the ice pool, which was fantastic.
The staff throughout the resort were incredibly polite, friendly, and clearly focused on making guests comfortable.
In the reception area, they offer printed pictures to color and games like Connect 4 and boats for kids to play with. There are also yoga classes and other activities for adults during the week, which we appreciated. Nearby, there are lovely places to explore, making it a great base for family outings.
One minor note: the drinks in the restaurant are a bit pricey (raspberry lemonade at 95 CZK and a jug of water at 70 CZK), but the quality of the food and service more than made up for it.
Teenagers will also find plenty to do, with options like table football, pool table, and virtual reality games.
Nearby, there’s a pond where you can swim, and they also rent paddle boats for some extra fun on the water.
All in all, we loved our stay and plan to return—perhaps trying a different Orea location next time to explore even more of what they offer. Highly recommended for families looking for a fun, comfortable, and kid-friendly...
Read morePros: The location was excellent and the hotel has stunning views of the Milovský rybnik! Comfortable and spacious room. Our bathroom was spotlessly clean :) We had half-board and I must admit it was just ok (We previously stayed at OREA Resort Horizont Šumava and it is impossible no to compare both hotels from the same chain). The options for breakfast/dinner buffet were fine but there is definitely a space for improvement. Modern TV with connection to Youtube and Netflix There was tea/coffee maker and small refrigerator in our room. The WiFi worked perfectly fine Baby coat with nice lining included. Staff at the reception & dinning room were very polite and accommodating. They made us feel very welcome. I tried the anti-stress massage and the Filipina masseuse was absolutely extraordinary. The lobby bar had a relaxing environment and great drinking options (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Private parking Plenty of hiking trails and maps are available to explore nearby places. Cons: No bathrobe provided We booked two connected rooms and in none of them the safe boxes were working. The balconies in both our rooms were full of spider webs. The pillows were very very soft I do not understand how is it possible that in OREA Resort Horizont Šumava the drinks are included in the overall price but in this hotel you have to pay for the drinks later on ? In the second day during our stay, we tried resting in the afternoon but it was impossible (we were able to hear the loud voices, the phones ringing and hover of the cleaning ladies). The closing system of the main room doors is definitely not sound proof at all (no matter how careful a person can be, the doors are quite a noisy and ear-splitting while...
Read more01.10.2023 EDIT This was our third stay at this hotel, we stayed with our family and were oined by another family of friends. We like the area and the hotel a lot. It was busy but never fels over-crowded. Very clean, the food is good, nice kids club, friendly staff, very nice bathroom amenities in the room, nice nature surrounding the hotel.
02.01.2023 This was our second time at this Orea reaort, we spent 3 nights over New Years Eve with our 5 years old daughter and had a great time. The room was very well appointed and clean, the food in the restaurant was great, the staff overall very friendly and nice. Our daughter visited the kids club and had a great time, the 3 animators were great (2 girls and one boy). The swimming pool area was also great to have. The New Years Eve party was lots of fun, good food and music plus the fireworks! Thank you all, it was great, we will be back to hike some more in the...
