Golf & Spa Resort Konopiště — Hotel in okres Benešov

Nice location 1h car ride out of Prague. The facilities are ok but some modernization wouldn’t do harm. They have many different buildings with rooms so the experience might be different. We stayed in the one where they usually serve breakfast (I believe they call it Steakhouse). There is a big parking area for free for guests and members. it was clean and safe. The restaurant has great food and the breakfast buffet was nice. We just been to the indoor and outdoor pool which were nice and the kids enjoyed it. There is also a simple playground with 2 swings, slide, climbing wall, sandbox, little carousel… then of course you can borrow golf rackets and go to the driving range or putting area without being a member. Close from the location is a nice forest (go there by car) with some playground, rose garden (Ruzova Zahrada) and an area to see deers and goats (just at the opposite of restaurant Stara Myslivna). There is also a big playground at the hotel Konopiste Nova Myslivna). A little train brings you around to Benešov for just 50 CZK…not much to do...

The golf courses and swimming pools are the best things about this place. We stayed in one of the buildings overlooking the pool area, the room was nice and clean and spacious. The restaurant staff were terrible, we waited several times just to be shown a menu, once almost 15 minutes when there were only two other tables occupied. At breakfast we had to clear away the dirty dishes from the previous guests, when I went to reception to tell them a waiter showed up ten minutes later, cleared the dishes from two tables and left the others. At dinner you had to signal the staff every time you wanted something, they rarely came of their own accord. The food was very good, but very frustrating having to catch the eye of the waiter every time you wanted anything.
