Feedback about restaurant Rendlik in Hasištejn. We personally ordered the table at least four days in advance. When ordering, the waitresses were informed that we were coming specifically for the fish menu, as one of us was a pescatarian and only ate fish. They also knew that we would be a group of seven people for lunch on Sunday, August 25. Yet the table was neither properly prepared nor clean. On the table were breakfast crumbs, not ironed tablecloths, an egg under the table and other shortcomings, which I will describe in more detail here. Plus, this was my parents' celebration for their 50th wedding anniversary. The waitresses knew it too. ||We were looking forward to this lunch, but after the experience with the staff, who obviously do not care about the good reputation of the hotel, we will never come back to them. I have lived abroad for over 20 years and have experienced poor service, but what we experienced in your restaurant was over the line. ||I am not an unnecessary critic, but these shortcomings were so serious that I cannot ignore them. ||No one asked if any of us had any allergies. It is a fundamental question that can save lives, and its omission is inexcusable. ||We ordered baked potatoes, but we got mashed potatoes. The waitress didn't even bother to ask if we wanted an exchange, she just apologized. ||We let them know in advance that we would like a fish menu. The lady told us that the fish were frozen, even though they knew about our order several days in advance. This information did not make us very happy, as the fish could be in the freezer for a whole year. When the cook came, he was wearing wrinkled and dirty sports shorts with a dirty T-shirt and told us that he didn't know about the fish. However, this is not our problem. All he had to do was to come and say that the preparation would take longer, which we would understand. ||We ordered Matonka, but it was forgotten. We had to remind the waitress twice. ||When we asked what kind of soup they had, we were told it was Frankfurt, but we got rip off cabbage soup with one piece of sausage, and some of us didn't even have that. ||We wanted to order strudel, which is a classic dessert and something that can be baked in half an hour, but the chef baked it at two in the afternoon. So, the lady offered us a blueberry pie, but it had nothing to do with blueberries – it was a simple Linzer cake with cottage cheese, and everyone got barely one blueberry next to it. That was a complete mockery. ||The highlight of the afternoon came when ordering ice cream sundaes. The order was clear. ||Sundae number 1: Vanilla ice cream sundae with Baileys for me. I just got a badly arranged ice cream in a nice glass without whipped cream. Instead of Baileys, I got sweet caramel, and when I pointed it out, the lady claimed it was Baileys, even though she had never seen it. In the end, she admitted that she had never seen Baileys, so she didn't even know what it looked like. I've never met a waitress who didn't know the color of alcohol. ||Cup number 2: A chocolate ice cream sundae with fruit that was ordered for a nine-year-old child. We got chocolate ice cream with a very unaesthetic whipped cream on top, which looked like it was thrown in by a four-year-old child, and a few blueberries and raspberries stuck in whipped cream. When my niece tasted the chocolate ice cream, she complained that it was too strong. After tasting it, I found out that it had Baileys in it. So, they serve alcohol to young children in the restaurant, which is unacceptable. After that, I called the waitresses several times to come immediately, but I had to repeat it three times before someone noticed that I needed something. They served only one table that afternoon. When the young waiter finally came, he brazenly declared that he didn't put Baileys in the cup. I don't care who did it, but I would expect an apology. Instead, he was very brash and unprofessional. ||I also pointed out some errors on their menu, where they have in English translation that "griliáš" is grilled cheese. I can't imagine getting an ice cream sundae with grilled Edam. That's another height of incompetence, and that's a prestigious hotel chain. ||In addition, we paid for ketchup, which we never got. ||Your level of service is unprofessional. Mere amateurism. ||I studied hotel management and worked in several hotels and restaurants as a student, but I have never made so many mistakes in my life as their employees did during one hour of service. ||The whole situation was both ridiculous and sad at the same time. When we went to pay, the lady didn't even offer any compensation for all the mistakes, such as a discount or some bonus, maybe something else for free, like a shot of some digestif. It's not about alcohol, because none of us drink much, but it's about a gesture. ||Anyone can be wrong, but this was the top of everything. It is obvious that after this experience we will not return to you, at least not to Hasištejn. ||I sent this complaint more than a week ago to the head office of the hotel, but nobody bothered to come back to me. I believe it says all. ||Good luck to you all if you ever...
Read moreFirstly, I’d like to say that I really hope that we caught you on a bad day and that this is not how the hotel is generally managed. I’d like to point out that the staff is very nice and friendly, but unfortunately overwhelmed. We arrived on time for the check in, however, the room was not ready. It was promised that it will be done in 20 minutes, but after that, another delay of 30 minutes was announced. The receptionist was very nice and asked the cleaning lady to give our room some sort of priority. I realize that we got quite lucky, because a couple that arrived a bit before us didn’t have the room ready even hours after, so they left. Maybe the staff was not instructed, but I’m assuming that if the guest is arriving when it should and it’s your fault that delays are happening, the staff should be reassuring. There wasn’t anyone telling us that, for instance, we could play bowling or anything, or that we could have a beer, instead of waiting outside or in the reception area. We had dinner at the hotel. For a 4* hotel, as you say you are, it was astonishing that it has one meal per day (around 15€ / person). We accepted, as we were told that the next restaurant is 20 minutes away by car. (I believe that in situations like this, the owners of the hotel should really take advantage of this and have an excellent cuisine.) Again, another example of the hotel being understaffed: the people serving us definitely had no experience in this, I think we had all three meals in a total of 20 minutes. Soup, main dish, dessert. It was a bit dizzying having 3 people around you, taking your plates away as you were just finishing, and bringing a new one before you could take a sip of beer. The portions were very small (I’m wondering what the children’s menu looked like), however it was tasty. The facilities are nice, the hotel I believe it was renovated, the pool is nice (although a bit small), the jacuzzi is cool, together with all the other facilities. The breakfast was delicious, with a lot of alternatives, juices, cereals, jams etc. I guess that the hotel was opened quite recently, because it gives you the impression that things aren’t really finished, and there are still details to put in order. There was a power failure in the pool area, however the staff didn’t intervene (I’m not sure they were even aware of it). As a result, people stayed in the dark for more than 30 minutes. Maybe this review will serve as an attention mark to the owners, maybe it will be ignored. I’d like to finish off by mentioning that the hotel room was quite expensive for Czech Republic, probably a normal price for a 4* hotel, but this one, at this point, is definitely not one. I really hope that this was a one time thing, because everything looks good...

Obsluhoval nás převážně starší pán a mladý klučina. Donesli tedy pivo a následně i vodu. Snídaně byly průměrné, možná místo prosseca k snídani bych ocenil čisté hrnečky a prostřený stůl - ano opět špinavý a bez příborů. Hlavní chod a dezert opět velice podprůměrný.
