I returned today from the Czech Republic following my wedding on the 24th may in Jablunkov. Weddings do tend to take a common theme with a church involved, however I was totally amazed at the reception that followed in the Hotel Grun.||The seating and most of all the excellent food was totally organised like a military operation. Wine, plum brandy and fine malt was in abundance with eager and friendly staff to assist at every stage of the function.||Rooms are a little different, warm wood is a feature of the hotel and this provides a fine backdrop to the winter sports associated with the region. Family fun is in abundance with trampolines, racing tracks and cycling to be enjoyed by all. Local music is a must......singing after peach brandy is of course excellent!||Prices are just perfect with a large beer at 31 Kc.....about a pound and a plum brandy for a paltry 60 pence!||The Czech food was enjoyed by the guests and the only complaint being that the portions were a little large.....even the children sized ones I am informed.||We had a wonderful time and spent little for the reception catering for some 79 guests. ||I strongly recommend...
Read moreStayed here for a wedding of some close friends of mine and was pleasantly surprised. ||it is mainly know to be a ski resort in the winter but during the summer it is a nice spot to hang out on a Saturday/ Sunday afternoon for families.||||The facilities were basic but suitable for a short stay. Would definitely be someone where i could return in the winter!||||p.s. they have a cool toboggan ride, if you go take advantage...

Very good service and the sausages and chips were as good as anywhere in Ireland.||The wooden furniture is beautifully carved and comfortable and the warmth was welcome as it was snowing outside on Easter...
