Overall disappointing. The hotel is famous for it's design, awards but sadly for it it's not practical and comfortable at all. The room does not have an aircon. Seriously, what hotel at this level does not have an aircon? The night was very hot and we were sweaty as a result. Bathroom does not have a fan either! They have some central aircon for entire hotel which as they are 'Eco green whatever' but that just sucks. Size of room is OK, what is interesting is a sink in the middle of the room. Looks impressive but not practical at all. Especially when floor gets little wet. It becomes sooo slippery you better watch out! Most hotels would just have sink in a bathroom, comfortable carpets on floor, heating in the bathroom floor but I guess 'eco' hotels need concrete everywhere. Worst is the bed. It was so hard and looked like from 1* hotels. Blankets, pillows thin, white very basic. How come a big couple bed does not have a big comfortable blanket? Instead you find 2 little blankets for solo. The view from the bedroom is impressive and truly amazing, I wish the window would be through all the wall instead tho. From room going into hotel review, corridors are tiny but cool, what sucks are they heavy doors that open to random side and you have to press handle and push it. There is no butler so you are going with suitcases and have to push hard doors. The elevator is just one and quite small. I found it very difficult to press the buttons, they are not standard buttons nor for vawing from a distance, you have to push just in the right spot somewhere on the panel multiple times to call it. Moreover the 0 floor was not lit so I spent couple minutes figuring out where to press on panel to get to 0 floor. Going into restaurant, we had a 7 course TASTING Beskydy menu. Frankly we throw away all of them. They look quite good on table, almost instagramable but taste wise, just bad, very smelly for us. We had quite a lot of tasting menus throughout the world, this was the worst. Not recommended! Drinks are very good tho, I enjoyed their first official cocktail and the others are OK too. We have not tried other pieces from the menu but instead went to Italian restaurant nearby. You may be good with other food from the menu tho. Breakfast was very basic, it may be good for this little village but compared to world just little options to choose from - speaking of all, drinks, fruit, got meats, cold meats, bakery. Just so limited stock and they do not add more when something is finished (eg butter croissant). Where are tissues?? Moreover the restaurant has a vibe of a cantine, some school restaurant, no privacy, very noisy. Then they are other minor catches that let the experience down, wierd entrance, no welcomes, no extra service, limited spa times... Speaking of spa, that is the best. Surely one of the best wellness I have seen in small hotels and is a masterpiece you have to visit. That kind of saves this hotel, the spa and location with views. First time I saw a freezer in Spa, really they have a freezer with snow inside, so cool and so are the saunas, whirlpool. The pool is warm, ok size, surprisingly very little sitting next to it. Not deigned for high occupancy which reminds me the opening times of wellness are just 2pm to 10pm. Quite unusual not being able to go to pool in the morning but I have seen that. They have lots to improve but still maybe the best you can get in the little village inside...
Read moreLet's start with trying to define what this hotel is trying to be.
There are off brand Italian supercars in a showroom at the entrance to the main parking area, the building is abstract and an interesting piece of architecture and the insides are lined with strange geometric pieces of contemporary art.
The main lobby is a strange mix of traditional hotel & art gallery, with matching amounts of wasted space and bare concrete. The whole thing feels somewhat unfinished.
The positives were the staff. Very friendly and professional. At both reception and breakfast.
First negative was a 1000czk surcharge for a dog. This is not pet friendly and an absolute scam.
Moving to the room, I booked a "deluxe double with balcony", and immediately upon entering was disappointed.
A bare room with an old conservatively sized TV, minimal decorations and a sink intruding into the main floor space beside the bed. This would not be out of place with a little kitchenette, however in a standard room, it should have no place.
The bathroom equates a jail cell. A tiny shower head, no sink (as this is inconveniently placed in the room instead) and worst of all what I at first believed to be polished concrete walls and flooring turned out at touch to be made of plastic.
The whole bathroom, just a small enclosure of plastic without a sink, without even a mirror and a cheap shower fitting.
What's left to say about the main room, one single chair, made purely of plastic, resembles something my grandmother would have placed in her garden 50 years ago.
The bed has two barely large enough duvets that not only have the feel of sandpaper, but also seem to be filled with nothing but air. In a double, it should have a single large duvet. Absolute bottom of the barrel cost cutting here.
The pillows are a pair of tiny (genuinely too small to support a baby's head) and massive (too large to use) ones. Useless for a good night's rest.
The view out of the balcony was spectacular.
Shower gels were the standard cheap, chemical filled ones you find in a 2 star hotel.
I don't know who thought it was a good idea to appeal to a high end market, put the effort into building such a fantastic structure, pick the best staff and location, only to let the whole experience fall short by cheaping out on the fundamentals which make a hotel...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I spent 2 nights at the beautiful Miura Hotel in Celadna during our trip across the Czech Republic.||||The hotel itself is quite beautiful and I really liked all of the unique design features that you can find across the property.
