Hotel Lidový dům — Hotel in okres Hodonín

Really ambivalent feelings about this hotel. The rooms were nice (nothing special, but comfortable beds and had everything you'd expect), the staff was friendly, breakfast and dinner we paid for as a part of the accommodation really really amazing (especially the dinners), the wine tasting in the cellar a great experience. On the other hand, though the waitresses were friendly and so accommodating, the service was just chaotic - more than once or twice forgetting about our order altogether, sometimes having a bit bizarre way of explaining things to us (but I get that in the evenings one gets tired, so no big feelings about that), and a weird system where you can order certain things only in the hotel pub and not in the hotel restaurant and vice versa. Plus, the biggest minus was that our room was situated towards a busy road cars were frequenting since the early morning, so since four AM I couldn't sleep at all - but I know that's not something the hotel can really do much with. Stayed for 3 nights on business and was a bit dubious about the location as Bzenec is quite a smallish town. However the hotel is new and well furnished. The room was nice enough, lovely bathroom including waterfall shower and bed comfortable. Only downside was the lack of tea/coffee facilities or other drinks.||Restaurant was nice and the steak fantastic, ate in hotel 2 of the nights and I was really happy both times. The restaurant is also the non-smoking bar but there is also a smoking bar that is also popular with the locals. My colleague was a smoker so we had a fees beers in there and the atmosphere was very good.||Breakfast was self-service and the choice was limited. Hot sausage & eggs, cold cereal, bread, meats and cheeses. It was OK for me though. Coffee machine got a bit busy but was regularly filled.||If I was on the area again I would...

I really cannot say anything about any other estabilishments in Bzenec, but this was superb experience. We (me and my now wife) had our wedding reception here and oh my god thank you. Food was excelent but what really blew our minds was service. We need to thank everyone who was there during our reception and they literally took care of everything.

After that experience, it is our go to place for if we want fancier dinner...
