Penzion Bejčkův mlýn — Hotel in okres Jindřichův Hradec

We spent two nights at this country hotel on an OAT tour in room 5. The medium-sized room had a double bed, small table with two chairs, wardrobe with 8 real hangers and safe, fridge, TV (which we did not use), coffee/tea maker, and two luggage racks (thank you!!). There were hooks for our windbreakers. Unlike other hotels on this trip, there was LOTS of light. Wifi was very good. The small bathroom had a shower with excellent hot water, a towel heater (not in operation during the summer season), two medium and two large towels, liquid soap, shampoo, and lotion. The window opened onto the back parking lot and further "zoo" with various animals. It was quiet at night. Breakfast was the usual substantial one. On the last morning, the owner fixed scrambled ostrich eggs as he had an ostrich on his "farm/zoo." We had dinner there on the second night which included his wines and a local quartet of musicians playing a variety of music. For us, the dining experience was much too noisy, but the other travelers seemed to enjoy the music and the noise. Stayed here as part of a tour - 14 of us. At first we thought it was a bit creepy as we were the only people staying there (just before the tourist season started) and it is pretty far from anything, but it turned out to be a nice place. The rooms were clean and comfortable but a bit small. The breakfasts were very good. The biggest plus (at least for my wife) was the collection of animals behind the hotel, including a pair of donkeys roaming wild she befriended (with the help of apples). Next to the road to Slavonice this place looks pleasant and simple. Indeed, the terrace is a comfortable and quiet place and the buffet that we had looked fresh and simple as well. However, just like the Italians, this restaurant makes from simple food something special. The quality is excellent and a big and pleasant surprise.
