Frankly speaking I have no experience with 3 stars hotels. But have to admit that we found in this place more pluses than minuses and even the cons I can put on my personal account as didn't check the map and surrounding beforehand properly. So the minuses for me were: unexpected lack of possibility to reach the center of karlovy vary with a baby stroller. I saw on the map 2,5 km and decided that it will be close enough for a walk . Therefore the second and the last minus nowhere to walk in the evening before bedtime. The foot of the shower cabin was a real trap. The lack of lift I can't really take as a minus cause major part of the buildings are historical and were not equipped with such a luxury from the beginning. The pluses... there are a lot of them that's why will write only the major ones. Hotel is clean (rooms, dining facilities , lovely towels etc). Wonderful terrace for an evening coffee or beer (will be back to try 1 more kind of a huge variety of onsite coffee ), extremely welcoming and polite staff. Simple but nice breakfast ( just wish a bigger mug for tea and coffee) . Easy access to the city center by a car. Comfortable parking lot. |Definitely can...
Read moreWorst hotel we have ever stayed in! The rooms are not clean, the heating was covered in cobwebs, the bathroom was rusty, there was no soap in the container, the door handle was broken. However, the hotel staff were the worst. And do you know how they reacted to our review about the cleanliness of the room? Like this is a 3 star hotel, this is the norm. Can you imagine? Cleanliness is a luxury 😂 Terrible boors! We were accused of breaking the door, they called us liars, supposedly everything was clean. Although after our review, immediately after we went out for dinner, they went into the room (without our knowledge) and cleaned it, fixed broken things. It’s a pity that it’s impossible to attach a video in booking, but we filmed everything on camera. But I have attached some photos. For the elderly or people with disabilities, just be aware that the hotel has no elevator and no facilities for such people. My elderly parents had to make their way to the third floor on foot. We booked a hotel for 2 days but stayed there only to spend the night and left the room in the morning. Due to their rude attitude, we didn’t even have breakfast, so I can’t leave a review...
Read moreThis was definitely one of my more interesting hotel experiences. ;o)||Some of the information on the hotel homepage is overoptimistic. The hotel is located far enough outside of downtown that commuting by car (or bus) is required. Reserved parking spots for hotel guests are available, but not necessarily for all of them. There is no staff out of regular work hours, but you will be helped by telephone. A smell of dampness wafts in the hotel, despite its claimed renovation in 2015 (that apparently did not comprise the bathrooms). Rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Free WiFi available, but slow with certain timeouts. Breakfast has all the basics needed, but it's exactly the same every day. Very good pastries, good cheese, but quite a few vegetables were "recycled" from previous days and they ran out of filter coffee every single day of our stay. The owner/receptionist is extremely nice and helpful, has impressive language skills and local knowledge. All in all, this hotel is a pretty good deal in generally overpriced Karlovy Vary if you are prepared to deal with some minor...
