U Tajčů — Hotel in okres Mělník

The worst hotel experience we had in the Czech Republic. Check-in is only until 18:00 (sic!) - The woman I was texting with said that I should cancel the reservation because we were supposed to arrive before 10 p.m.! so she wanted me to pay the entire amount for not showing up at the accommodation! Only after I persuaded her to leave the key and instructions somewhere - as is done today in EVERY civilized hotel - she agreed. But it is an absolute shame and the height of rudeness that slightly after 10:00 we wanted to drink coffee - but do you know how the owners want to drive away the guests? they turn off the electricity :) in the photo we have our coffees which we couldn't fill with water because instead of talking like civilized people, the owners treat their guests that way. My husband didn't even have time to leave the room when the cleaning lady came in. to sum up: check-in until 18:00, power off after 10:00. I absolutely do not...

How can you not like this place?! I stopped here in May of 2019 on my bike tour. It was a great room, very friendly older couple and their son. The parents do not speak English but their son (and daughter by phone) does. Wifi worked great. The father showed me around so I could see all of the renovations that he had done and was in the process of doing to this middle ages...
