Penzion St. Florian — Hotel in okres Nový Jičín

We stayed in here for 2 nights as we were going to a wedding a few miles away.||The place is a little odd but for a few nights it's absolutely fine.||The owner barely speaks a word of English but he is so nice and accommodating even though he is a little strange. |Eg we asked for some super glue to fix a broken cufflink... He returned with a shirt for my other half to borrow (we politely declined). He also waited up for us to get back from the wedding and brought us up some cold mineral water... In his underwear! ||The only reason we're not giving this place 5* is because there's no aircon and it was the hottest week of the year. It's probably fine if you're staying in June or October but we don't recommend in August!||The penzion is also crammed full of antiques. The room would be really spacious if we could move in it! ALBERGO (ma qui lo chiamano B & B) sicuramente insolito. INDIMENTICABILE, nel bene e nel male.||Si trova a poche centinaia di metri dalla piazza centrale della città e anche dal monumento e dalla casa natale di Freud.||Dispone di parcheggio interno e wifi gratuiti, ma non di aria condizionata.||All'esterno fa una buona impressione, ma entrando l'atmosfera cambia: ambienti bui, tante scale (troppe) per accedere ai piani superiori. E meno male che avevamo la stanza solamente al primo piano.||Nel lungo passaggio per arrivare alla camera assegnataci: tante anticaglie, tante cose kitsch e alcune anche belle. Vecchi divani, statua di Giovanni Nepomuceno benedicente, stufe, stufette e stufone, tanti orologi da muro (fermi per fortuna!), e nella nostra stanza pienissima di cose (peccato, c'era un bellissimo bovindo, anche se soffocato da pesanti tende), lampadari stile "vecchia nonna", uno anche con orsetto di peluche (vedi foto), copripiumone "dark" (v. foto), stanza "stile Drakula", ma niente paura, siamo vicini alla terra dei Valacchi!||Il proprietario, un gigantesco omone, non parla lingue straniere, sa solo domandare "Gut schlafen?" (=dormito bene?). Il primo giorno, niente buffet... Macchina del caffé (Segafredo) rotta, ci fa un caffé "alla turca", ossia fondi e acqua calda. Restituiamo il caffé, imbevibile e lo obblighiamo a farcelo (a malincuore) almeno con il caffé solubile. Poi, finalmente, tira fuori un po' di salame e formaggio, fatto portare ancora, visto le ridicole porzioni. Difficoltà nel farsi capire.||E' andata meglio il secondo giorno! Il padrone questa volta ha preparato, conoscendo ormai i nostri gusti, un gran piatto di affettati! E' gentilissimo, a differenza del primo giorno, e ci regalerà addirittura una grossa bottiglia di acqua minerale ghiacciata, al momento della partenza!||Il B & B è ancora oggetto di grossi lavori: altre stanze stanno per essere inaugurate, più belle, più luminose e per niente tetre.||Bisogna pagare in contanti (no bancomat, visa ecc)||Raccomandato comunque, per la sua...

All the antique furniture that you saw at the Czech museums, those you were not forbidden to touch... you get to use them all here! We were in the small room but it was beautifully decorated, bathroom was modern and comfortable. There are broken furniture here and there, some dusty areas but overall I was happy. Owner is very cheerful and funny. Also he makes the best scrambled eggs...
