Hotel Artaban — Hotel in okres Pelhřimov

Next in the list...hotel Artaban. Very highly rated if you look in internet. But...surprise, surprise. If you are a single traveller, you might get a room at the new building of the hotel. And pictures of that one you will not find on the site of the hotel. And there is a reason for that. The biggest advantage of this new building is....that is new. I'm a world traveller, I've seen many hotels in the past 10 years, every month different one, and I know 4 star category hotels are offering spacious rooms, otherwise you can not claim 4 stars. You can say everything about the room I got, but not spacious. And in addition the roof is coming down on you very, very steep. I hit my head a couple of times while I was standing up out of the bed. The bathroom was excellent, in fact more spacious and roomy then the room itself. Internet connection was also very good. Restaurant despite of the quiet short menu also is offering a very good service. Ask for the pizza menu, that you will not get normally!?! Breakfast also was...

I cannot say much about the rooms as I have not stayed at this hotel yet, but I have had a very good experience with the restaurant here. We were a party of about 15 people and had booked a table but when we came there was a separate lounge (!!!!) prepared for us with a prompt and helpful waitress, who was smiling all the time.||The menu offered cold and warm starters, soups, vegetarian dishes and of course all kinds of meat, poultry and fish. I ordered excellent garlic soup and even more excellent pork on herbs with bacon cream and home-made croquettes. Yes, it was a concert of tastes. We drank outstanding semi-dry white wine and coffee. from outside, the outdoor seating opposite also so we decided to have a lunch there during our trip. As almost always I ordered the roast pork with home made dumplings and cabbage. The portion was hugh, 300 g, it would be quite enough to get 200 g, The meat used was not very suitable for this meal, it was very dry. Home made dumplings were very likely made from the industrial package, canned cabbage was very likely pretty old, its taste was terrible. 1 point out of 5. On the other side my wife had another meal which looked and tasted great. 5 out of 5.... Maybe just bad luck...
