Penzion Starý Pivovar Česká Bříza — Hotel in okres Plzeň-sever

Beautiful area - needs a car, but really nice... long drive, small wooden bridge over the stream (bridge big enough for a car :)) then gated entrance and penzion at the end, surround by nice gardens and woodlands||||Nice and secure with gates at entry||||Room was satisfactory... beds ok... quite comfy although mattresses a bit thin and some slats of the bed loose... table and chairs, TV, wardrobe. Ensuite - shower only, WC, basin, hooks for towels only||||Owner quite strict! Pleasant enough upon arrival, but runs through all the house rules, what you may and may not do. Fair enough in many ways but...||||One night we hardly slept due to noise from neighbouring guests! Reported immediately to owner who responded quickly with a reply on messages, but didn't actually take any action. So whilst we had a message response, she didn't actually come through to sort the situation out... so not impressed with the lack of action and lack of customer care in that difficult situation which left us with a lack of sleep!||||You're told don't go in their part of the house (of course we wouldn't) and they won't come in your part either... which means no fresh towels and bins in your room not emptied etc. You can ask if you want but yeah, you, the customer, has to ask and chase for things.... not ideal really||||Only hooks to hang towels so you can't hang them opened out to dry... so they don't dry well... to be fair, ours were changed and we hadn't even asked... perhaps they saw we'd hung them on the line outside to dry? Saw fresh towels outside our room one day so folded our used ones and switched them over...||||Water is funny... instruction is not to waste water... not sure if they have mains or not? There is certainly a slightly odd smell to the water there.. when you use the basin or shower, it smells a bit funny....||||Kitchen provided... all guests to share kettle and facilities... that's fine as long as other guests are considerate when there. Tea and coffee are there to use. You need to get milk/sugar etc., if you want that.||||Fridge provided - wine, beer, soft drinks and water here - you keep a note of what you take and pay when you leave - love that! Thanks! Freezer provided too.||||There is an outdoor pool you can use||||Filled a need and is a pretty...
