Penzion Mauritz — Hotel in okres Prachatice

This guesthouse is in a faithfully restored historic building in Bela, not far from the Nova Pec train station in Sumava National Park. You can get a simple room with a mini-kitchen, but it is highly recommended to reserve dinner in the charming barn beautifully converted to dining hall. Good food, good beer, great atmosphere. You can rent bicycles at the guesthouse for a very reasonable price, or bring your own. You'll want a hybrid or mountain bike to properly explore some of the many (!) trails available to you, from flat to hilly routes through the forest, along the upper Vltava, to lakes and wetlands and hidden cultural sites. Make sure to bring the right cycling maps, available in the Cesky Krumlov TI office. (Don't count on the TI being open in Nova Pec, unless it's summer.) Check out the routes that include a ferry crossing of Lake Lipno, and/or that start at one train station and end at another! Such a perfect place to stay! Well located for access to plenty of hiking and biking opportunities (they also have great mountain bikes available for hire), but very quiet and cozy for the mornings and evenings after long days out on the trail. The room was rustic and very comfortable, the food was delicious, and the energy around the guesthouse was just very friendly and welcoming! I spent two days there by myself and the prices were very reasonable, even more so if I had shared the room with a friend. Jan (owner) was also incredibly helpful and responsive for both the booking request and other information about the area. Would love to return someday and spend more time in this beautiful place! We had the chance to stay at the place for three days. It’s very nice place with cozy simply set rooms. The decorative suites are stylish and filled with history. Very friendly staff always ready to do everything for you. They cook nice homemade food which can suit even challenging allergies restrictions.
