A relaxed and traditional hotel surrounded by beautiful and peaceful Revnice, less than 30 minutes by train to Praha centrum, makes it a perfect and affordable base to visit Praha. Consider that anywhere outside of Praha centrum it may take 30 minutes or more to get to centrum. And the train station is just 200 meters away.||||Revnice is a pearl of a village with wonderful architecture, relaxed and friendly people and several inspiring cultural enterprises. Check "The Blue House". The river is near, and the forest is near, its just 10 minutes walk from the hotel door. I had several nice exercutions by the river banks and at the paths in the forest the time I stayed there. Many hikers and bicyclists uses Revice as a meeting- and starting point, since it is near to it forest, river and bike tracks.||||The hotel is in classic style, and is renewed at the inside, cosy rooms with a touch of class, and I did not have of their finest rooms. The room and the bathroom was clean and tidy, all delivering as promised. ||||The staff were friendly and very service minded, nothing to say on the will and ability to make the guests comfortable and happy. And they did. The hotel have many guests that comes again year after year, I stayed for some weeks and met many. Also the locals that one may meet downstair at the pub are friendly and nice people, and it is no problem to get in touch with locals. Not entirely like Praha where people are more reserved to tourists.||||The restaurant have several rooms, one may eat in the pub or in the restaurant dining room or at the terrace... or in the garden. The menu have many czech specialities as also international cuisine. Especially the chicken in mushroom sauce was good. My compliments to the chief for that, I found it outstanding. Kitchen closes late and have a varied menu of the day on top of the regular menu, be early if you want dinner from the menu of the day, it may be all eaten up if one waits to long...||||The pub closes around 22-23, but there are other pubs nearby that may keep open all night if its worth it. The parking space is private and safe, I am quite paranoid on that , but could relax here. The hotel also have a garden area by the parking in the backyard, and that I found fine for having a cigarette and a cup of tea with me out to enjoy, watching the squirrels and the flowers and singing with the birds.||||This hotel really takes care of the guests, it is not a sleeping machine, but offers a warm home when away from home. The receptionists are helpful and informative and will make sure you have a good experience in Revnice. Most of the staff speaks or understands english suffiscient to make oneself understood in english, even if they may say they do not speak english... in english. :D They do, but perhaps not as flutuent as oxfordians. The receptionists have no problems with english nor german.||||I tell you one thing, you are going to appreciate to be taken good care of by all staff at Grand Hotel, from the receptionists to the waiters, maidens and the cooks. And also the locals at the pub. Good vibrations all the way, and I noted I did not meet one single grumpy person at the hotel for 5 weeks, I had my grumpy mornings myself, but that was as stroken away by a fresh breeze each time I came out of the door at my room.||||The breakfast buffet was simple and varied, with fruit, sometimes eggs, sometimes scrambled eggs, sometimes sausages, not luxury, but good and fresh food, and far better than «continental breakfast», and much more volume of course.. The free wifi was simple to log on, stabile, and fast enough for gaming (Bf3)||||My intention was staying there for 2 weeks and travel on. It became 5 weeks, and I will be back.||||To the Grand Hotel and all the people that makes this a good and warm hotel, thank...
Read moreWe drove by car from Denmark to the Czech Republic and started out in Praque. We had booked the Hotel Grand in Revenice before we left. Revenice is a small green and cosy small town situated close to Karlstejn with the famous castle.||The hotel is situated about 19 km from the Praque city center and is a small, pink and cosy hotel with a very friendly staff. The receptionist recommed that we took the train to Praque instead og driving by car, and we decided to do so. The train station is only 2 minutes away from the hotel and in 25 minutes you are in the middle of Praque. A very good recommendation.||The hotel is, however, a bit worn out, but it doesn't really matter. The room was big and clean with a new bathroom and everything worked just fine. We felt that we were brought back to the old days and believe that this hotel has been a very fine hotel years ago. There is free parking space, which is locked from 10 pm. Futhermore you will find a very good restaurant with a variable and interesting menu and at very reasonable prices.|Friday night we enjoyed local musicians in the bar.||We paid EUR 36 per night for a double room incl. breakfast, which was huge and delicate with fresh juice. You save a lot of money by not staying in the hotels in Praque City Center and as at the same time you can enjoy the nature.||We really enjoyed the stay and are planning to go back...
