U Hancilu holiday house is cute and pleasant dwelling with touch of traditional mountain rustic style - perfect hub for hiking, skiing and biking trips in the Eastern Giant mountains. It is located at silent place highly above the valley, though still in walking distance from the village centre. Large stone terrace and surrounding grassy estate oriented to the west invite to afternoon chill-out gatherings with glass of beer and piece of juicy steak on the available grill. Friendly and helpful owners may arrange barrel of Czech beer at prior notice. The house is fully furnished and equipped with dishes in two kitchens, there are a couple of three- to four-bed bedrooms and also two spacey living rooms. Bicycles could be locked in the basement room and there are parking lots right next to the house. We enjoyed our weekend stay in a group of 15 friends, having decent parties in the evening and various bike trips during the day. We can really recommend this...

Wir waren im Februar 2015 mit 13 Personen in der Hütte. Sie ist ideal für eine Gruppe von Freunden bis ca.16 Personen. Die Zimmer sind individuell und geschmackvoll eingerichtet- wie auf der Homepage beschrieben. Eva macht die Reservierungen und spricht sehr gut deutsch. Ihr Bruder Martin ist der Ansprechpartner vor Ort und spricht englisch.||Das Auto muss im Winter auf einem bewachten Parkplatz im Ortszentrum Velka Upa geparkt werden(ca 21 Euro pro Woche). Dann ruft man den Hausbesitzer Martin an und er bringt das Gepäck mit dem Jeep für 150 Kr.( ca 5 Euro) pro Fahrt nach oben.Der tägliche Aufstieg zur Hütte hat uns nichts ausgemacht, ist aber für ungeübte beschwerlich. Am Parkplatz gibt es eine Einkaufsmöglichkeit wo man alles Nötige bekommt. Wir haben die Brötchen schon am Vortag dort gekauft und am nächten Tag aufgebacken.||Ganz in der Nähe gibt es ein Skigebiet, man kommt aber von der Hütte schlecht dahin. Wir haben es praktischer gefunden, die Ski im Auto zu lassen, den Berg runter zu laufen und von der Talstation zu starten. Viel besser ist es noch mit dem Skibus nach Pec zu fahren- denn dort gibt es ein sehr schönes Skigebiet! Für Langläufer ist es schwierig in der Nähe gespurte Loipen zu finden, aber es gibt sie. Oder einfach auf ungesputen Wegen fahren, das macht auch Spass.||Fazit: für Gruppen die sich selbst genug sind und ein bisschen skifahren wollen:...

Really lovely, well-equiped and decorated mountain cottage not far from the highest mountain of CZ, Snežka, with the possibility to go on various hikes or enjoy winter sports if possible.
