Horský dům OLYMPIA — Hotel in okres Trutnov

We very much enjoyed the stay at Radka and David's guesthouse. The food made by Radka was fresh and made on spot from quality ingredients. The drinks made by David were fantastic. We had a bit of an issue arriving with a FWD car, but they helped us get through on the icy day. Definitely bring the snow chains during the winter :)

The rooms are cozy and comfy, clean, and the common area is awesome.

The location is about 5 minute drive from a large ski complex.

The only thing I would improve is the soundproofing. Although mentioned in the description, our room was not soundproof. There were someone's kids running around and making lots of noise throughout the entire stay. There was also a surprise of a vacuum cleaner noise from the hall that woke us up at 9 am, maybe that can be moved to later hours ;)

The owners are helpful, straightforward and easy-going.

This place is truly a destination on its own.

I have been coming to the area for a few winters now for a weekend of snowboarding a short-ish drive from Berlin, last year we met Radka and David, and just fell right at home.

Olympia is not a business, is a labour of love. Radka and David have built this hotel to live the life they wanted, and are generous enough to share it with all who drop by; if that is not the definition of the perfect host, I don’t know what is.

The house is beyond comfortable, the setting is as if lifted from a movie, the experience is simply unique and authentic to the point where getting off the main road and driving through the forest for 2 minutes really means leaving your day to day behind and entering the land of me-time.

If you get the chance to stay with them and don’t take it, you’re really missing out!
