Just got back from 5 days in the Czech Republic where we stayed at the Bukovina Hotel. Originally we chose the Bukovina because it was pet friendly (this was the first trip we were taking with a new puppy), had reasonable rates, and was in the region we were interested in visiting. We could not have been happier with our time here. The owners, David and Bridgette were outstanding hosts: friendly, full of information, and just great people. The rooms were basic but nice, and having access to a common room was great. We were able to spend our mornings sitting by a fire, using free wi-fi, doing puzzles, and drinking good coffee. In the evening we could watch some family movies with our young daughter on their a projection TV, even getting surprise popcorn deliveries one night. It was also an ideal place to bring a pet. We were a little apprehensive bringing our energetic puppy with us, but she was as welcomed as we were. There are large fields nearby that we could walk her in off leash and Bridgette even made her homemade dog treats one day. Lastly the food was awesome. The free breakfast was excellent, and because of how much we enjoy drinking Czech beer (and not wanting to drive), we ate in their restaurant each night. Every meal was excellent and very reasonable priced. In short, our whole family, daughter and dog included, can highly recommend the...
Read moreI have stayed here on several occasions and am impressed with the service, food, and surroundings. This is the perfect spot for a family or group to stay in. They also speak English and Czech! My daughter was married here last summer and we rented all of the rooms for the wedding party. The wedding took place on the grounds outside in a grassy area and it was perfect. I have also been here in the summer, spring, fall and winter. There isn't a bad time to come if you like the out-of-doors. In the summer there are trails to hike where you can pick wild blueberries. In the fall the air is crisp and the yellow leaves are beautiful. In the winter we went snowmobiling and...

So my husband said that it would be the side dish to his order. The waiter made a face and said, "Are you serious? Maybe in your country it's normal, but here it's not". Then he turned and walked away.|We walked over to him to pay the drinks and cancel the order, and I told him that I'd write about this story on booking, to which he answered that he owns the place and he...
