Penzion Podzámčí — Hotel in okres Znojmo

Two of us pulled up here on a cycling tour, just for a coffee. As we were parking our bikes on the stand outside the entrance a man came out and got into his car. He appeared to be the proprietor, and made it very clear to us that the stand (an old log) was reserved solely for customers of the Penzion, implying that we were not welcome to park our bikes there, without attempting to establish whether or not we were intending to patronise his business. As we were ready for a rest and some refreshment we ignored this and went into the bar to order our drinks. The young woman behind the bar was equally unwelcoming, never smiled once but just looked stony faced throughout all my dealings with her. This was a complete contrast to almost all of the many other places we stopped to eat and/or drink on our tour and left a very poor impression of this...

Pension is located in wine region right at the border of Czechia and Austria, and you can easily enjoy interesting places in both countries. Personnel is very welcoming. Breakfasts were great, especially for the price, and pension's restaurant is good place to have a dinner too (local carp from local fishing pond is much recommended). The room was OK, clean, if a bit empty - some additional furniture, like a coat hanger, would make a room look not as empty as it was. The door opens...

Plusy: velmi pekny penzion nedaleko hranic s Rakouskem. Zajimavy interier restaurace, venkovniho zastreseneho posezeni, pujcovna kol, kolarna, bowling. Prijemna obsluha, vyborna kuchyne a samozrejme vino primo od majitelu-vinaru.

Minusy: maly komfort v pokoji, pouze maly stolek (ikea) se 2. židlemi, coz je hodne malo k pohodlnemu si sednuti ve 4 lidech. Skoro zadny odkladaci prostor, policky, nocni stolky atd. Pokoj je vhodny spise k prespani a traveni casu v restauraci nebo na vyletech. Myslim ale ze pri ,,doladeni,, techto veci je pobyt v tomto penzionu TOP !
