After a wonderful trip to Genner Strand, we decided to visit the pancake house for the very first time. We placed our order inside and decided to sit outside. ||||We walked towards a table under a covered area but the table looked as if it was still occupied with left over plates. So my partner went back in to ask if it was free. She was told it was free and just needed to be cleared up. The guests behind her overheard the conversation and before we knew it, they came out before her and took over the spot we were going to take. Anyway, we shrugged off their rude behaviour and found a spot in a hot sunny spot. Too hot! ||||Note to management: ||- Have extra umbrellas out so your guests have the possibility to sit in the shade outside.||- The leftover plates were removed by the rude guests and not your staff.||||Then the waiting time began... we waited for almost forty minutes before the young lady who took our order showed up with our 1 cola (39,00 Dkr) and apologised for forgetting us. We then waited again for 20 minutes before our 2 pancakes were served! While we waited, 6 pancakes were served to the waiting customers.. The kitchen was certainly lagging behind in a major way!||||I ordered the pancake with maple syrup and nuts (39,00 Dkr) and my partner ordered the pancake with apple puree and cinnamon (39,00 Dkr). Even though they were sweet pancakes they were tilting to the saltish side. The apple puree tasted as it came straight out of a store bought jar and with that amount of waiting time, they were really not worth the long, hot wait.||||Will we...
Read moreWe stopped at the Pancake restaurant (pandakagehus) on site as we were driving by and the place caught our eye. The place was packed, even though it was a Wednesday evening! There was, in fact, no space in the main restaurant and we were given the option of eating on the tables set up outside or in a 'party hall' at another side of the building. We opted for the 'party hall'. Seeing it packed we hoped we were on to a good thing, and we weren't disappointed.||||The place offers a variety of savoury and sweet pancakes. We had already eaten so we had the dessert pancakes. With a bit of delay the pancakes arrived. Absolutely delicious. Worth the stop and the wait. The owners/servers are also very friendly, apologising for the wait and keeping us updated without crowding us. ||||While we were there we showed interest in the camping place and the owners quickly said that it would be perfectly acceptable to have a quick walk around. The camping place has space for around 50 'camping plots'. There was a mixture of caravans and tents, with plenty of space for all. If a calm camping ground in some great looking nature is what you are looking for, this place could be...
Read moreThe service is painfully slow and the pancakes are ok, but simply not worth the wait. When we came, we waited a while to place our orders. We asked for two savory ones and one sweet pancake, and knowing in advance there would be some waiting time, we suggested the order is placed for everything immediately, and then hopefully we would get our sweet pancake right after finishing the savory ones. After a long time, we got our food, finished it (too much salad, too few salmon pieces, too salty beef and bacon) and waited patiently for the sweet one. After more than 20 minutes the girl came and said how we had been forgotten and there would be no pancake. She even suggested going to McDonald's for a desert!! So not only were they not giving us what we ordered, but they also needed more than 20 minutes to inform us about it. At that moment it was already 21, their closing hour, but also the closing hour of almost anything around... I believe the reason this place is full is not the quality of the food, but rather the proximity to the camping spot... Sitting in and out, looks...
