I want to make it absolutely clear from the start. We have not stayed nor will we ever stay at Hals Strand Camping. Especially not after this.||||Me and my family visited Hals Strand Camping for an ice cream on our way to the beach the other day. They bragged about having 26 degrees in the pool so we shortened the visit to beach so we could hit the pool on our way back. Even though there was only 2 hours left of opening time they charged full price ($15 USD / person). ||||The water in the pool was so cold (could not possibly be any warmer than the ocean) that my 5 year old was all blue around the lips after just an hour. We cut the pool time short and decided we would enjoy the last hour before our transport arrived at the playground.||||Upon leaving the pool area we were told to leave the camping conpletely as it was private property. The playground is only for paying visitors. I tried reasoning with the clerk while my 5 year old was crying. In what world are we not paying visitors? We just payed $60 USD for what ended up being a hour of pool access. Without success we just gave up and went outside the gate to wait for our transport. Lesson learned - commercialised to the point which there is no hospitality or common sense left.||||TL:DR My 5 year old couldn't use the playground as we were not paying visitors after having paid closer to $60 USD for an hour of pool time. A little to petty...
Read moreThe Beach is extremely narrow and a paradies for jelly fish. The Site is actually ok, but maintained poorly and far too expensive. We had wished all facilities would been taken care of with the same dedication as the pool, only Open from 12-5.The playground has safety hazards and the bath rooms are closed down partly in low season. The open ones were not cleaned once during our stay. Guess the unfriendly receptionist knows why he let the visitors pay in advance. Luckily we booked only 3 nights and moved to a site where you get bread before 10am and far more for your money, leave alone the 50kr for 2...
