Location, location, location… Hoerhavegaarden B&B is an amazing place surrounded by forest with countless MTB and running trails. A few minutes walk to the beach with views to Aarhus harbor and located only 10 minutes by car to the center of Aarhus. We took a daily walk heading south through the beautiful forest and back home along the beach and ended up right in the backyard of Hoerhavegaarden. We stayed with a family of four, including two teenage sons, at Hoerhavegaarden in one of their larger apartments because we needed the extra space the apartment had to offer to be able to work remote during our stay. It turned out great and the WIFI was speedy too. Before arriving we had little expectations to our stay but we had ordered groceries to be delivered before we arrived and e-mailed the host couple Susanne and Martin if they were kind enough to put in the fridge. They mailed us back while we were in the airport that everything had arrived and that the apartment was ready for us. This was not the only example of great service – throughout our stay – the host-couple were accommodating with our needs and even with bike-rentals! The apartment layout was perfect for a family including an amazing bathroom (with a waterfall shower) and a fully equipped kitchen. We absolutely recommend it and we will be back in Hoerhavegaarden again. Thanks,...
Read moreLovely bed and breakfast in a charming old home with a thatched roof. The host was very kind and nice enough to make dinner reservations for us. One tip: the checkout time is earlier than most at 1000 vs the normal 1100. Make sure you factor that into your plans. We accidentally overslept and ended up staying past checkout. The host was very gracious but we felt bad because he had workmen standing by to install a new sink in the bathroom.
+Very nice host +Beautiful home +Tasty breakfast +Free parking right out front +Close to Aarhus downtown +Close to a free wild animal park where kids can feed deer (bring your own carrots/apples) +Close to the MOMU (Mosegard Museum) +Close to the marina where there are several nice restaurants +Exceptionally clean
-Checkout is earlier than most places I have stayed at 1000 vs 1100/1130 -Shower design lets water get all over the bathroom -Bedrooms are upstairs, bathroom is downstairs, could be an issue for someone who cannot handle stairs
I would definitely stay...
Read moreSo pleased we booked this self-catering apartment in a beautiful old thatch property, with the added bonus of breakfast provided by the hosts. Martin and his family are very pleasant owners, and keep the place spotlessly clean. The kitchen in our apartment was well stocked with equipment, and we were able to make some nice evening meals.
The building is well insulated, and we didn't feel cold at all. So easy to get into the city, but the b&b is also a stone's throw from the beach and the forest. Incredibly well located, you've also got museums on your doorstep too.
Breakfast was a daily feast, my kids loved the boiled eggs, and we all enjoyed the pancakes that are a speciality of the host's family.
Staying here was the perfect start to our 2020, we would love...
