The Boysen residence is a former farmhouse with two barn-converted apartments and two so-called “shelters”, simple wooden structures for the light travellers. The apartments are quite simple and we would recommend making use of the joint dinners that the family provides (e.g. fries and snacks on Wednesday, BBQ on Friday) due to the small kitchenette, but also because it is a genuinely nice experience with their own family members also joining. This is something that sets the family apart; they aim to bring their guests together through joint meals, the fireplace and the playground. The kids enjoy themselves well with the toys, the barn (with chicken, rabbits, goats and two pigs), the trampoline and playing football. The breakfast they (optionally) provide is a real treat, as mentioned in many reviews before this one. Although the house is in the countryside, Ribe is only a small distance and within 45 minutes driving you have a lot of places to visit (including the isles and beaches). There is a hiking path at approximately 5 kilometers , but you may want to take the one on the far side of the river due to flooding of the near-side path when there is a lot of water...
