This is a convenient place to stay if you want a nice room in short driving distance from Aarhus. Modern, comfy rooms and lovely, underfloor heated bathrooms. Very good!||The dining experiences we had did not match what we would expect from a reputable KRO like this. Both evenings there were buffets, one evning with fried pork (Danish speciality and loaded with fat) and the other there was a socalled summer buffet with three different meat dishes. This food was all cold and not very appealing, very disappointing. The waiters were all very stressed, not at all coordinated and did not pay any attention to us during the meal. When eating buffet, it is normal to remove plates between each serving, isn't it? And ask if we wanted another drink? Not good enough, Nilles!||If you want to go anywhere by taxi, just forget it. There are several telephone numbers in the room information, and at the reception, but they seem to end up at the same company - and they refused to come! Unbelivable - we wanted to go into town by taxi the second day - that could not be arranged and we were told there was a bus stop 200 m down the road! It was a both windy and rainy day, so we took our own car of course. Nilles should really take action on this - and make a complaint to the...
Read moreI booked for 7 nights this hotel because it was close to where I wanted to be. I checked the website and booked a big ( 25qm ) modern room with a balcony. What I got was a small ( 13—15 qm) old worn out dirty room. There was supposed to be a couch with a pull out bed, which also wasn’t included. This room deserved only 2*. Half of the living area was the slanted roof, so standing up was impossible. I went downstairs and said that there must be a mistake, the ordered room is not what I got. I was told that we had one of the biggest rooms. I explained that this isn’t what I reserved and I just got a short movement of the shoulders as a answer. |Our highlight was to guess in which corner of the bathroom the dead fly would be when we got back in the evening. It was always there since we moved in and was still there when we left. It just was moved with the broom that the “ cleaning woman “ used but didn’t understand how it works. We found dirt, spiderwebs and leaves all over the hotel, not just our room. |Positive was always the food. Breakfast was good and always filled up. We ate one evening at their steak night. I haven’t eaten a steak in a restaurant that was better! We all really enjoyed the meal and could not find anything negative...
Read more2 grownups for early dinner on a Thursday. Thursday is "flæsk-day" which my friend went for, and I've decided to try their Weiner schnitzel. Price for 2 was about 440kr which is not particularly cheap. For starters we got a potatoe-leak soup which was tasty and rich and came with buttered bread and some crispy bits. Ezcellent. The Flæsk (grilled/fried pork) was very tasty if you like bacon (and who doesn't?), and you can eat until you burst. Normally they serve pork prepared in different ways. Because of corona restrictions, only 1 type is served, and to the table instead of a buffet. Fair enough I guess, for hygiene purposes, but they could also serve 2 or 3 types.. The schnitzel was bad and takes my score down to 3 stars. There's no other way to look at it. A dried out piece of meat with edges that are hard to cut and chew. Probably from the back of the freezee. The atmosphere in the restaurant is friendly and country-like. All in all...
