On our cycling vacation it started raining on day 2. We had planned on sleeping in our tent at Nordstrand but due to being soaked decided to rent a cabin. We were met by a wonderful receptionist who also, upon recommending ordering pizza when we asked about somewhere to eat, offered to order the pizza for us so we could avoid the international phone costs. We ordered the pizza and then hurried off to take a quick shower so we could get the pizza at the camp entrance. There is a funland kids thing just across the road, which has been a very welcome diversion for us...

The marina across the road has a restaurant and there's a quirky little beach shack bar a bit further down the road. The onsite shop had some basics, but there's a large supermarket just off the main road about 500 metres away. Plenty of toilets and showers in 3 separate blocks around the park. On another note, DO NOT underestimate Fredrikshaven, it's a very lovely working town that deserves more time than we gave it. Happy to recommend both the caravan park...
