Montra Skaga Hotel — Hotel in Hjørring Municipality

Very spacious and nice hotel, not too inexpensive, especially during holiday season, but definitely worth the money. Located very close to the ferry port, so perfect for an overnight stay if your ferry trip starts in Hirtshals early in the morning. Lots of parking space directly at the hotel free of charge. Downsight of its location: Distance to the “center” of Hirtshals is appx. 20-30 mins to walk.

Really attractive and large rooms (probably renovated) with a very comfortable bed. One point of criticism are the bathroom and toilet, which apparently have not been renovated and could be somehow nicer and more modern.

Breakfast is really good and the breakfast restaurant with great view over the ferry port.

If we once again make a trip to Norway starting from the port of Hirtshals, we will...

The room was big and brakefast was nice. It was a bit noisy because of the traffic. What I really didn’t like was the lack of professionalism of the staff. In the check out we were a bit late, we have a baby so a lot of things need to be moved. The cleaning lady opened the door when my husband was dressing and I closed the door very soft and she was almost yelling. Later on the lady of the reception came and the same she was almost yelling I understand that hey have strict schedules but more appropriate behavior is expected from people working with customers. I have been in many 4 star hotels this is the first time I see this type of behavior. There are other mechanisms for strict check out for example dissabling cards after check out etc. there is no need to treat customers...

Nice hotel. Good service. Room cleaning was alright, but slightly lacking. Bedsheeds looked liked it was rushed, and the sofa in the room had visible seat markings and breadcrumbs. I think the cleaning staff was in a hurry. Hotel was fully booked, but thats not an excuse. Service and hotel staff were friendly. I didn't eat dinner at the hotel, but breakfast was alright, nothing extraordinary. I don't know what makes the hotel a 4 star however, cause the room I had, had no room service, no fridge or bar, nor did it offer anything that a 3 star hotel doesn't have.
