We planned a little family get together with our granddaughter and her family in a luxury hotel. we wanted to spend some hours with our great granddaughter. we chose kragerup gods. they reserved hotels room 2 based on the hotels recommendation, a large luxury room, in the main building, with a view of the park, near the restaurant so while having dinner they could have their baby alarm within range, c. 4.500 kr for 2 nights. we reserved a smaller room in a building farther away, c. 1300 kr/night. they arrived monday and would leave wednesday. we arrived tuesday morning and would leave wednesday. wanted to spend a cosy tuesday with them in their large room. but the hotel made a mistake and gave them a smaller room, in a side building far from the restaurant and out of the range of the baby alarm. when we pointed out the mistake, the hotel said they would correct their mistake and change their room for the next night. but both their room and ours would be available at 3 pm. this meant despite paying c. 6.000 kr we were all homeless on tuesday till 3 pm. so we ran around in the woods surrounding the hotel in cold, dressed in warm coats, scarves and caps, the baby packed in her stroller, because we didnt have any place to have our planned get together. we went to the girl in the reception with our grievance. she said our room would be availabale at 3 pm. we said that the hotels mistake had ruined our plan. she repeated, irritated, the rooms would be available at 3 pm. I am 83 yrs old and was so cold and tired that i went to our room and took a long nap. that was our cozy and expensive get together. as for our room no. 22: the toilet ran all night. the drain plug in the sink was stuck so everytime we used the sink, we struggled to empty the sink’s dirty water manually. we had forgotten our tooth brushes, but despite the high price of the room, there weren't tooth brushes available. the check out and check in times (10 am to 3 pm) are rather restrictive for an expensive resort hotel and we spent some of our available time packing and unpacking. As for the dinner, the rather expensive 3-dish offer's portions were so small that we had to eat a lot of bread. we are now an experience richer and c. 8.500 kr (including c. 3.000 kr restaurant bill) poorer :-( in all fairness, i admit that at departure time, the gentleman at the reception offered us a glass of beer as compensation for the hotel’s mistake, which we politely declined. Clearly Kragerup Gods has management/quality...
Read moreIt was all going so well with beautiful location lovely weather and a room upgrade until …. we got back to our bedroom at 10.30pm and a party of 30 adults on a company session started in the courtyard outside our bedroom in the main hotel. Lots of alcohol , drinking, laughter, loud noise on a hot evening and we could hear everything through closed windows (although we really wanted the windows open as so hot in the room ). No one available in reception to talk to about it and find out how long it would go on for. |We thought we were coming to a very nice hotel in the country but didn’t work out that way. Maybe we were unlucky but would not recommend based on our experience. Money from corporate events is more important to the owners than individual customers...
