Færgekroen Hadsund — Hotel in Mariagerfjord Municipality

Having not reserved a room ahead of an unplanned trek up to the area around Veddum, we were directed to this Hotel at the only option in the area. We arrived to find an almost vacant lobby but finally a young fellow appeared and said there was one room left in the basement of the hotel which is across the street from the restaurant building pictured. The room was down some dark unattractive steps and smelled musty. The bathroom was across the hall. It all felt a little like the spooky motel in Psycho. But, being all that was available, we took it. We had a very nice dinner at the restaurant that evening and met some very nice business people who were staying in the hotel. Breakfast was good. I think the rooms on the main floors may have been much nicer. And this last room did provide us a good night's sleep but certainly wasn't an ideal...

I booked what is called a deluxe room. It is a room in a side building called Hotel Syd, so firstly it is not at the Færgekroen at all. The room faces a busy road and a roundabout with a lot of traffic. The picture of the room on booking.com is misleading, as it is not from the same room at all, it must have been taken from some of the rooms facing the fjord in the main building. This is very misleading and I am still wondering, where the deluxe is. It should be mentioned that some rooms are in a separate building across the road. It would maybe have been ok, if I knew how the room was and where it was, but I actually expected to stay in the main building and not in some annex to it listening to cars,...

After a very wet cycling day in Denmark I stayed one night at this hotel. Whilst the room and food was okay the unexplained added taxes to my account were not. And to be charged for some tap water with ice further deminished my experience. There was no facility to dry my wet cycling clothes, flies over the food at breakfast and a long wait for my evening meal, even though I had preordered for a set time.
