My family and I have stayed at Bramslevgaard on several occasions. Our fist visit in 2019 was a great experience when we visited the hotel and restaurant, but unfortunately things have really gone down hill since. |We have a huge amount of experience staying at various levels of hotel both in Denmark where we live and throughout the world. I always say if a hotel can impress more than once they are doing a great job, unfortunately this definitely hasn’t been the case at Bramslevgaard Hotel, which is a really shame as it has so much potential. (Hopefully the next owners will bring out the hotels potential.)|Bramslev Bakker is a stunning location and if you enjoy walks in unspoilt natural surroundings this is a great spot.||The hotel offer various types of accommodation from a standard hotel on suite bedroom to small apartments with very basic self catering facilities. (One pot, one pan two hobs and a few plants and glasses etc. Not much but just the very basics if you want to camp a little!)||As for tour stay:|Breakfast could have been okay but unfortunately the buffet was empty half the time so if you wanted bacon and scrambled egg you where unable to eat it together. You could have a sausage and then come back and if you were lucky get scrambled egg s without any bacon of sausage. ||The hotel appears to be very under staffed to offer a reasonable service to the number of guests staying at the hotel and only on our last day did house keeping make our beds and refresh our towels. Not only this but the room was horribly dirty with mildew and mold in the sower and growing on the shower curtains, definitely not what you expect when paying over 1000 DKK per night.||The hotel restaurant has the facilities to offer great food and we ate at the hotel restaurant on 2 of the 3 nights. The first night was “Good” for a gourmet style restaurant however our second visit to the restaurant was “TERRIBLE” in fact I would rather have had McDonalds and I would like to point out that I hate fast food. The menu consisted of a prawn salad but perhaps the worst prawn salad I have ever had consisting of iceberg lettuce 3 slices of cucumber and some dill and creme fresh dressing and about 8 small prawns. The main course chicken was almost too salty to eat and very dry. On top of this the waitress forgot to serve a bottle of wine I had ordered for the main course and by then I had given up and decided to cancel the rest of the dinner. A really bad experience from what should have been great. It was very clear that the same chef that had cooked for us on the first night was not the chef working on the last night of our stay and this was confirmed by the waitress.||In fact the receptionist even mentioned that the hotel was heavily understaffed during our stay. This just leaves me with to points.||1. If you are very understaffed why book to full capacity?||2. Why not mention this to guests when they make the reservation if they new this was the case? This would have let us decide if we wanted to stay or not.||Very, very disappointing Bramslevgaard Hotel, such a shame that you couldn’t repeat or even improve on our last visit… Unfortunately we won’t be back for a...
Read moreWe stayed at the hotel for two nights while visiting the area. The drive into the property is just amazing, with trees lining the long drive. You feel like you are approaching a distinguished country home. The staff was very welcoming to Americans who do not speak Danish. We loved that there were tables and chairs outside inviting guests to sit and enjoy their coffee in the morning or a drink at night. The rooms are not fancy or luxurious but comfortable enough and very clean. We stayed in an apartment with a double bed in the loft; the stairs are steep, be warned. A third bed was made up for my son on the ground floor. It was warm and the windows had to be open so a few bugs came in; no air conditioning. We had dinner the first night at the hotel and it was good but the servers did seem overwhelmed with a full dining room. The best part of all of it was the hike down to the fjord and the glorious surrounding countryside. I'd...
Read moreWe loved staying in this solitary estate (ca.5 km outside of Hobro). It has a beautiful old Lindentree in the middle of the yard. We felt very welcome by the owner, who was always present and very friendly and helpful. For little extra money we were offered a room upgrade, which was great, so we ended up with a huge room with both bubble bath and shower :-) |In the evening we had dinner there, which was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back! |The estate lies directly on the cycling path 🚴🏻 number 32. If you are cycling on a tour with luggage, this path is not suitable to go from here to Hobro. With a mountain bike it's probably ok. Rather arrive early, so you can have a beautiful walk to the fiord and have a swim before you go for a drink on the terrace and then a wonderful dinner (compliments to the chef!)...
