Selvom have I been so disappointed. There is no match between the cost of the stay and what was delivered |This was our first stay for two years due to COVID-19 and we had really looked forward to this.|The stay was an extended weekend stay incl breakfast, 3 course dinner and afternoon tea one afternoon|First the positive; no complaints about the room, it was nice and clean and lovely view over the bay|If you stay there, avoid the restaurant, both when it comes to service and food.|First day: when arriving we were asked if we wanted the afternoon coffee/tea and cake to which we said no thanks, and said we would like to have it next day, which seems to be accepted (at least no comments to what we said), we reserved a table in the restaurant for the evening and made ourselves ready; arriving in the restaurant the waiter (not sure if he was the kitchen chef as well, at least there seemed to be no one else to serve/look after the guests, and to add he was the same who checked us in) showed us to our table, based on our observations there seemed to be another table with guests who knew”the waiter” well, and then some other overnighting guests like ourselves. The starter was ok, the main course (steak) was well done (we were not asked how we wanted our steak), we decided not to say anything as we wanted to have a nice evening. |We had some issues getting in contact with “the waiter” he was occupied with the “friends” table which was very loud and noisy. In the end we called it the day hoping next day would be better.|Next morning we went down to breakfast “the waiter” was back with eared eyes and I our view some “hangover” .. due to my husband’s diet, which we had mentioned night before, we asked for some eggs, it was clearly not well received by “the waiter”, but reluctantly my husband got two fried eggs(difficult to make I know…. Irony might occur here….). We then left to go out and experience the area and came back in the afternoon for our afternoon tea/coffee with cake… it was closed!!! Only open for check-in. So we left again to go somewhere else for our afternoon coffee|Back in the evening for our dinner, was reasonable not more… when I came back home I realized the two classes of brandy for our coffee should have been included in the price, but I paid for it. I will stop now, it was NOT a stay we want to do again, it was expensive (approx 700€) and really awful, you can do better and...
Read moreWe stayed at the Hotel Fjordkroen between the 18th and 21st July in one of their junior suites. When we were looking for somewhere to stay in this part of Denmark this hotel stood out as it is located overlooking the Praesto Fjord and was a small family run establishment. It turned out to be an ideal base for exploring the island of Mon along with the main towns of Vordingborg, Naestved and Gavno. The first two nights of our stay passed well, the room was very comfortable, though very warm meaning that you had to have the windows open during the night and the food in the restaurant was enjoyable. On the third evening the hotel was hosting a wedding in it banqueting suite, which is located in the same building as many of the hotel rooms. Given that the hotel is an old building the sound insulation whilst adequate for a dinner cannot cope with the techno disco which started at 10pm. The bass beat could be heard everywhere along with the noise being made by the wedding guests who were standing outside the hotel. This went on to around 2.30/3am making it impossible to sleep.|| ||Our stay was ruined , we had come to a peaceful and secluded hotel to relax and instead found ourselves a part of a nightclub. Very disappointing given that the nightly room rate is 156€. It seems that the owners are more interested in the quick profit from a wedding than the welfare of their hotel guests!|| ||They need to decide if they are running a hotel or a wedding venue. Perhaps it would make more sense if they were to only rent the hotel rooms on the evenings of weddings to the wedding party like many wedding venues do rather than ruin the holidays of unsuspecting travellers.|| ||If you are looking for a peaceful hotel stay whilst in the the south of Zealand then I would suggest contacting the hotel before making a booking. If they tell you that a wedding is planned you should avoid this hotel; if you have any wish for a decent nights sleep.|| ||If the hotel was honest it would highlight nights went they had functions planned so people would be aware of the inevitable...

In booking.com we ordered a wonderfully room with a terrace , with a view to the sea and an extra sofa for our child. When we got there we got a super small mattress on the ground for a child!!!! When we asked where is the sofa from photos they told that they don't have at all sofa's in any rooms. Then we were wondering at least where is the view to the and terrace - we got a small window to the sea. And to reach the room we had to climb steep slippery stairs - for a pregnant women not a wonderfull solution. In conclusion we decided not to take the room becouse it was totally different from what was ordered on booking.com
And of course - money was taken from our bank account even though if they were lying about the room and what was included.
Customer service - awfull. Woman was always talking on my words when I wanted to get my money back. Of course she was saying that it is our fault that we booked a wonderfull room and we got " nothing". Becouse she doesn't know what booking.com is offering.
In conclusion - rooms - you can not get what you are ordering. Customer service - awfull, not polite, and not even considering to find a solution!!!!
