Our names are John and Maddie Moller and we got married at the Norsminde Kro in September of this last year. Flawless would be the word that comes to our mind. The venue, service, ambiance, staff and food all would receive 10/10 reviews and that is where we will jump into for this review. We were a group of about 100.||For starters Maddie and I worked heavily with Marie. She is a class act and someone that the Norsminde Kro is lucky to have on their staff. Any large event is stressful, but Marie had done events like this before and delivered on everything she communicated with us while being kind and calm throughout the whole process. Maddie and I are Americans but I have Danish family so we always knew we wanted to have our wedding in Denmark. So, communication for a large event like this needed to be precise and Marie had it all covered and some. ||We also had Laura as the lead of the wait staff and once again the Kro is lucky to have her. She is a leader and someone that made this night very special for us. Her explaining the dishes/wines and making sure everything was presented in a timely manner was extremely impressive.||The Wedding:||We went with the “DEN STORE BRYLLUPSPAKKE” and this was a great decision. You get more time with your guests at the event space and honestly everything you need. ||Venue: You cannot really ask for a more beautiful Danish style building overlooking the fjord. The location is cozy and exactly what we wanted. We utilized the outdoor space, the large room from the outdoor space and two of the large assembly halls. Everything was gorgeous and elegant. 10/10||Food: From the wedding cake (which needed to be customized for the vegetarians) to the appetizers, dinner, desert and late night food everything was delicious. Food is a very important part of weddings/celebrations and the Norsminde Kro excelled exponentially in this area. You don’t want your guests going hungry and they didn’t. 10/10||Drinks: We had wine and champagne for welcome drinks. They were delicious. Norsminde Kro is known for their wines so this was something that we knew was going to be great and it was. I can promise no one gets under served throughout the evening and that is a testament to their wonderful staff. We also had beer/fadol throughout the night and that was also great for our guests. 10/10||Service/Staff: They were awesome and did a great job throughout the entire night. They always knew the right times to come in and serve and also let the guests have the space and not always around. They were very pleasant and very approachable so anything anyone needed they delivered. 10/10||Dance Floor: Incredible. Enough space for dancing and vibing. 10/10||Rooms: Hotel rooms are updated and very beautiful. Comfortable beds and homey. 10/10||Overall: We cannot express how incredible the experience we had with the Norsminde Kro was. It is something we will never forget and all of the 70 Americans that came to Denmark won’t either. A dream wedding at a dream location. Marie and Laura, you are special. We thank you for everything and recommend this entire place for an event/wedding at the highest degree....
Read moreWe had decided to spend my mothers birthday having lunch outside on what seemed to be the last Sunny day of summer. As we arrived at Norsminde Kro we asked the waiter to be seated at one of the many vacant tables out front in the sun. However he informed us that there was No service out front in the sun and that we would have to sit in the shade and cold out back. What an Odd concept. Having come a long way to try this restaurant we agreed. I was happy to see that they had a nice selection of alcoholfree beer and ordered one. We also ordered 2 parisian steaks. A chassic danish dish. While waiting for the food to come i visited the restrooms. I don't know what had been going on in there but it was a mess. I informed the staff and returned 10 minutes later and the only change was that they had placed a big roll of hand towels on the table to dry your hands. As I returned to out table in the shade the food had still not arrived. I country 40 min till it was on the table. Sadly it was far from worth the price. Anyone Who knows how to make a parisian steak can tell from the picture that this is not the way nor should it be the guests job to teach the staff how to run an establishment. Hungry and cold we ate quickly, paid and left praying that professionals would take over and turn this place...
Read moreFor my Mum's 85-year birthday she had invited her children and grandchildren for an overnight stay at the Inn - a party of 10 people in the age of 16-92 years of age! It all started with a nice afternoon tea served with sandwiches, petite four and a glass of cava. This was followed by an invitation to the wine cellar for a wine tasting session guided by the sommelier. Well-explained and a good experience for everybody. A short break to dress-up for dinner served in a private room in the gourmet restaurant Prés next to the wine cellar.||We had a starters with champagne followed by a 5-course dinner with an accompanying wine-tasting menu. Service was impeccable, food delicious and we all had a fantastic experience eating oysters, sweetbreads, bone marrow in ashes and so forth. The wine was well paired to each dish, but the sommelier could have spend a bit more time explaining why a particular wine had been chosen for each dish. But this is definitively a minor´point for improvement!||This was all followed by coffee and avec upstairs.||After a nice sleep in very nice furbished rooms with quite ambiance we all met for a nice home-made breakfast before taking off.||This is really worth a visit - and I can only recommend the gourment restaurand Prés also for...
