Hotel Smedegaarden — Hotel in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality

We stayed at this small hotel with adjoining restaurant in the village of Lem not far from Ringkoebing. We got the keys to a nicely refurbished house opposite the hotel, next to the train station. The house would be ideal for a family as it had three bedrooms, two of them had lounge seating arrangements. Outside small garden with chairs and table. We were not disturbed by the trains since they only run every two hours between 7.00 am and 11.00 pm. The lady at the reception recommended some sites in the area, especially the restored delta of the Skjern river. Very quick check in & being shown to our room, was a first for us,so thanks for that. The room was lovely & had everything we needed. We had a 3 course meal both nights, which was very well presented & delicious. You do get very big portions, so try not to eat too much beforehand. The breakfast was very basic but good. The only minus was that the milk & A38 were not cold & the marmelade/jam should have been covered up, as there were little flies about., The staff were very friendly & helpful. Lovely small in, food almost at the level of gastronomik, everything from a very good chef and he´s hands, wine selection is good, and goes well with the menues of the week. Rooms are available, small but comfortable, beds are good, but if you can, get a room opposite of the road, towards garden side. Location is near Vestas, big factory for powermills, but do not make any disturb to your sleep, near by a lot of nature areas, near fishing places and near the west cost, where you can go fishing, kitesurfing and other fun...
