Amazing location, great view, great staff but… The Marina Hotel in Vedbæk enjoys one of the best locations you could ask for — just 400 meters from the train station and right on the beach with beautiful views of the marina. The rooms are exceptionally large, and the staff are genuinely friendly. Special mention to Martin at reception — he is a gem, always helpful and positive. That said, the hotel is seriously outdated and in need of modernization, especially the rooms. Today’s traveler expects better: proper room lighting controls, updated amenities, and soundproofing. Unfortunately, the thin gypsum walls mean noise travels far too easily between rooms, and the glass windows don’t insulate against outside noise either. The biggest disappointment was the bed — the mattress was so uncomfortable I woke up with back pain. It felt no better than a temporary folding bed. Breakfast was fine with an adequate selection, but nothing memorable. Overall, it feels like the hotel struggles with the financial balance of investing in upgrades versus returns. With modest investment in modernization, better beds, and the addition of a couple of chic eateries or a bar, this place could easily become a sought-after destination. For now, the location and staff shine, but the hardware sadly lags behind. If you decide to choose this hotel come with a lower expectations you will definitely enjoy your stay. I would come again if they change the bed mattress.

Old, dirty, dilapidated hotel I stayed for 2 nights for a business trip. Whilst the reception seems modern, the rooms are old, bathrooms are dirty and dated, and the electrical wiring in the room is poor. The toilet roll holder is continually falling from the wall, around the toilet area is filthy with dirt that looks like it has never been cleaned. The extractor fan doesn’t work, most probably because it’s filled with dirt and dust. The wifi is terrible in the room. I can barely load a webpage, let alone work from the hotel. Furthermore I went to get into bed, and the only way to turn the ceiling light off is to turn all power off in the room…. Including the bed side lamp and wall sockets! Unbelievable. When addressing this with reception at 22.30, I was told they were aware of the issue, but they haven’t done anything about it. I then exchanged with a colleague the next day, and he mentioned he had the exact same issue with the hotel several months ago… it seems as though they do not care about customer feedback and improving guest experience. Finally, the breakfast was very poor and not worth the money. Very disappointing. I would not recommend to stay here, and I will not be staying again.

Hotel is along the seaside with nice view on the small harbour. Hotel has meeting room and a room for breakfast and bar. Restaurant is not available but there are couple of restaurants few steps away. The room is huge with an entrance with wardrobe, a lounge with tv, a single bed and a couch, and another room with a double bed. The bathroom is small. The rooms would need more attention a bit of refurbishment. Also cleaning should be a bit more detailed. Breakfast was good with good selection however also here more attention shall be put when food comes to an end and replaced.

This hotel does not collect feedback from its customers in a systematic way. Therefore shortcomings to their service are not noticed by the personnel, and not corrected. A short list: It was freezing outside. I got room number 124. This room sits at a corner of the building. The temperature in the room could not be heated more than just about the freezing temperature, although the heating system was at its maximum. The heating system is badly designed. First of all it is far to small to be able to heat the room. It should be replaced by a heater which is about 5 times bigger. Second, the heating system is mounted badly. It is mounted close to the window, and the curtain goes in front of it. So most of the heat is wasted. I mentioned this to the reception: they have no system for logging complaints. The temperature was so cold i needed all covers present in the room to keep me warm.

The room smelled badly. Reason: fungi, because the room is not enough heated.

When using the wash table: the valve to drain the water away could not be operated.

Soap: the soap distributor on the wall did not work. = no soap

Television: although there was a television, it contain nearly exclusive local programs. So nothing to be watched for a person non-local.

At breakfast: There was break. You had to cut it yourself. No issue for me, but then they supplied a knife which could not cut the bread. Nobody of the people present complained.

Breakfast cereals are supplied. But they forgot the milk.

Cheese. There was cheese on a cutter table. But the table could not be moved so that I was able to cut the cheese.

A continental breakfast is offered, but they do not offer potatoes.

The parking in front of the hotel invites to park close to the hotel. However, in the morning, you have a parking ticket. They forget to ask at the reception when checking-in at the hotel. Cost of the ticket: more than a night in the hotel. You can cancel this at the hotel reception, but you have had the unpleasant surprise.

Most hotels have a form available, where you can submit your experience and your suggestions for improvements. This hotel does not have this. The consequences are unpleasant experiences in...

My wife and I stayed for 6 nights. We paid extra for a 'renovated' room and ended up living out of suitcases for almost 7 days, as the room had NO Wardrobe, cupboards or drawers ! Despite our protest we were told all the other hotel rooms were the same !||Also the hotel parking was managed by a separate company, ParkZone who it appears were in collusion with the hotel management to catch hotel guests who were deliberately mislead into not complying to the letter with ParkZone's ridiculous registering procedures which we later found to our cost needed to be updated regularly and were not for the period of the stay in the hotel ! ||On arrival on 5th Oct. 21 we were registered for parking by the hotel with ParkZone and were advised later we should re register with them again on the morning of Sat. 9th Oct 21. In the event we re registered (we thought in advance for convenience) on the evening of Fri the 8th Oct at 21.31. , having returned with our car to the hotel at 20.45 that evening. ||However despite being booked at the hotel until 11th Oct 21 our original ParkZone registration apparently expired earlier that evening and we found a ticket on our car the following morning which resulted in us having to pay ParkZone a fee of 990DKK = €104 despite the fact that we were long term hotel guests !! ||At the time of booking this hotel was representing itself on it's website as being part of the Core Hotels group. We complained to Core hotels about the above problems only to be told by Mr Peter Haaber the owner of Core hotels that the Hotel Marina had not been part of his group for many years and was now...
