We spent 5 nights at dayz søhøilandet in a house type A. Two adults and two children below 4 years old. We arrived before check-in but we're greeted by the nice and helpful staff and we could use all thir activities if we wanted to. The area is very nice and green with a brand new playground which was perfect for us. The apartment was large and bright with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large living area. The bathrooms had recently been updated. The kitchen had all amenities including water boiler, coffee machine. The staff had also left two children's beds and a baby chair that we ordered in the apartment. The apartment could have been better cleaned as we needed to do some additional cleaning on the kitchen and bathroom. We went to the pool two times which is nice, but the children's area is a bit worn. We had pizza at the pizzeria a couple of times which was nice. I also want to thank one of the girls working there that made sure the gluten free pizza we ordered for our daughter with celiac disease wasn't cross contaminated. ||Pros:|+ Great and green area with newly built playgrounds|+ Big and nice apartments|+ Warm and nice pool for children|+ Welcoming and helpful staff|+ Superb place for children with no cars and big green areas|+ Nice pizza|+ Great location for travelling to Legoland, Re safari park and so on|+ Several activities for children and adults||Cons:|- our apartment could have been cleaned better|- the cooking plate in our apartment was a nightmare to operate.|- the whole center is a bit worn including the pool, but it really didn't bother us too much.|- they close down the shop and restaurant a bit too early.||We had a great stay and will...
Read moreWe (two adults and one 2½ year-old) spent a great extended weekend in Gjern. The house was well-heated when we arrived which helped on an ice-cold day and especially the bathroom, with heated floors, was surprisingly nice. There's also WiFi pr cabin and that worked better than in most hotels I've been in!||||If you have larger kids then the swimming area might be on the small side, but our little girl had a ball there so we didn't need any more.||||For winter visits, the options at the resort are slightly limited, so a weekend felt about the right amount of time with a toddler, where during the summer there are many more options to explore the nature around as well as just the outside playgrounds. But we'll definitely use them again.||||Only concern is paying for electricity. This happens automatically, which is clever, but also completely opaque. We paid 150 DKK for three days which I felt was a lot considering we didn't use the kitchen (apart from to make coffee) and of course had lights on and watched some tv. Maybe they could have answered how it was calculated, but we were a bit busy when we left so I just paid.||Didn't at all spoil a good trip though, so I would recommend...
Read moreNeeded updating and money, everything looked used and slightly drab. Kids pool was more art than a pool which was very disappointing. Wouldn't leave my 2 year old near it as there were metal fish and silly ornaments blocking any enjoyment. It was surrounded by rocks which made it very dangerous if little ones fell onto it. Very dirty showers, only got washed at the beginning and end of the day, looked disgusting. Tip toeing past all the thousands of sock fluff left on the floor. Absolutely dreadful. Needed a shower after getting out from there! Indoor child's play area was very small and dark. Wouldn't be able to hold more than 10, no age restrictions or anyone on duty. Inside our family house, doors were creaking loudly, meaning children would wake up and a very noisy fridge to accompany the noisy place. Outdoor tarzan tree thingy was out of action. Very expensive with really nothing to...
