Ny Hattenæs — Hotel in Silkeborg Municipality

We had a reservation for the restaurant here. A really beautiful place! We were the first on the terrace. The drink came quickly. And then the long wait began. All tables around us were now occupied by cheerful Danish guests. The menu looked attractive and we had made our choice. By now we were ready for the second drink and we indicated again that we would like to order. All other tables were nicely set and the guests were given something to eat. We asked again if we could also order. Apparently our knowledge of Danish customs is too limited because we were unable to order something to eat. Eventually I asked for the bill for our drinks and made my disappointment clear to the wait staff. To my surprise we got the bill within two minutes with no one else bothering us. We drove to a restaurant a little further on the lake and here we finally enjoyed a great dinner. We must have been unlucky, but the complaint handling was so bad that we will not come here again soon. Shame!

In response to your response: as I wrote, you have an amazing location and your menu did look great. The only thing was that you were unresponsive to my complaint while we were left in the dark. We did not have ANY telephone calls or whatsoever before or after the mistake. So I think you mix me with an another client who was complaining. We only give our honest feedback direct and face-to-face so you can improve and create an even better experience. By the way: I tipped your staff 20% on my bill…

At the end of the day it is just a dinner where we were so unfortunate that you forgot...

This review is only related to Ny Hattenaes' restaurant.|Ny Hattenaes is set in nice sorroundings, and the design of the restaurant is classic rural Danish and appears to be updated recently. |The restaurant has a good selection of courses and made from local produce. Unfortunately the size of the servings varied dramatically between the tables - we observed guest being served 2-3 times larger steaks than others, from the same menu!|The overall experience was ruined by the staff. We had to wait a stiff 70 minutes between finishing the starter, for the main to arrive. That can happen, but staff at Ny Hattenaes was not attentive to this and displayed only ignorance. If you want to have hair in your salad and main dish - overpriced and unfriendly service, you are at the right place. Location is ok, but not even direct lake view, you pay for bland, tasteless food. Seats are full of animal excrements. One hair can happen, but every course with long curly hair, you wonder what’s going on...
