Jeg vil virkelig gerne kunne lave en top anmeldelse, da jeg fulgt Paul Cunningham og det har vÊret en drÞm at komme pÄ ophold her. Hvis jeg skal starte med et positive, sÄ er personalet meget imÞdekommende og venlige og det samme gÊlder betjening ved middag og morgenmad. De vil rigtig gerne sÞrge for at man fÄr en god oplevelse. Vi ankom kl. ca 16:30 og blev her oplyst at middag var kl. 18:15. Det er mÄske lidt tidligt efter min smag, i sÊr pÄ en dejlig sommerdag, hvor man har nydt en frokost ved vandet lidt sent og man har lyst at nyde den lange sommerdag, evt. med et glas aperitif inden maden. Vi checkede ind og hÄbede pÄ at sidde pÄ terrasse og nyde et glas fra minibaren, som jo rigtignok er gratis, men indhold er decideret skuffende. GrÞn Tuborg, Coca cola og Fanta var indholdet. SÄ mÄ det hellere koste noget (hvis det er der skoen trykker) og sÄ have nogle lÊkrere varer. Det kunne vÊre noget Þkologisk saft, lokale sodavand og Þl fra mikrobryggeri og vin. Snacks var heller ikke en realitet, andet en 4 abrikoser i en kurv. Men mÄske godt det samme, for terrassen lÄ 15 m. fra hovedvejen til stranden, sÄ fuldstÊndig umuligt at sidde ude for trafikstÞj. SÄ det blev en lur i stedet, ovenpÄ den meget lange kÞretur. Det samme tarvelige gÄr igen ved personlige produkter, billige produkter i engangsplastik. Det er altsÄ so last year. Maden i restauranten var der naturligvis hÞje forventninger til, med de to stjerner og prisniveau. Maden var god, men sÄ heller ikke mere. Aftenens hÞjdepunkt er smÞrret, som fremstÄr som en smuk servering. Og desserten, som smagte virkelig lÊkkert, hjulpet godt pÄ vej af Ärstidens fantastisk sÞde jordbÊr. De Þvrige retter, som bestÄr af snacks, forret, mellemret, hovedret og dessert, var meget lidt fotogene, grÊnsende til de uinspirerende. Hovedtema var syrlighed og dild. Og her taler vi virkelig meget syre og meget enkelthed. Det var grundlÊggende et stykke fisk og sauce, kÞd og sauce, bortset fra en fiske/skaldyrsservering som lÄ i en suppe af noget der mindede om eddike, olie og syltede lÞg. Vinmenuen var fin, og tog brodden af det syrlige i retter, og rigelig, da de var flinke til at fylde op i glas. Vi fandt dog ud af dagen efter, at der havde vÊret tre forskellige vinmenuen at vÊlge mellem, men det blev ikke oplyst da vi blev spurgt hvad vi Þnskede at drikke til. Morgenmaden var ogsÄ dejlig, mÄske kunne man med fordel skrue ned for mÊngden, og i stedet for holde det til noget enkelt, lÊkkert og Þkologisk. Tanken var at vi skulle have haft to nÊtter, men grundet miskommunikation mellem os der skulle bo der, havde vi kun fÄet booket en nat. Det er jeg pÄ bagkant tilfreds med, da jeg havde forstillet mig at man kunne sidde i en hyggelig have og nyde solen eller pÄ sin terrasse, men da ingen af delene rigtigt er mulige, stiller jeg mig til takke med en overnatning og kan nu hakke Henne Kirkeby Kro af pÄ min bucketlist.

Unser heutiger Ausflug fĂŒhrte uns zum Mittagessen ins 2-Sterne-Restaurant Kirkeby Kro bei Henne Strand, das vom britischen Koch Paul Cunningham gefĂŒhrt wird. Trotz der Sterne und dem exzellenten Ruf ist das Ambiente entspannt und lĂ€ssig. Man kann das Restaurant ohne Scheu auch in Jeans und Turnschuhen betreten – eine willkommene Abwechslung zum oft steifen Fine-Dining. Der Preis des MittagsmenĂŒs ist ĂŒber die Jahre zwar deutlich gestiegen (von ursprĂŒnglich 80 Euro auf 142 Euro), doch es bleibt eine tolle Möglichkeit, die gehobene KĂŒche eines Zwei-Sterne-Restaurants zu erleben, ohne sich in den Abendstunden an das teure HauptmenĂŒ wagen zu mĂŒssen. Das Interieur ist nordisch-stylisch, geprĂ€gt von viel Holz, Bildern mit Naturmotiven und einem herzlichen, nahezu unsichtbaren Service. Die Speisen sind eine Mischung aus regionalen und internationalen EinflĂŒssen, wobei stets frische, saisonale Zutaten verwendet werden. Wir starteten mit einem Gruß aus der KĂŒche: RoggenknĂ€cke mit sĂŒĂŸsaurer Heringsvariation – ein köstliches Spiel aus verschiedenen Texturen und Aromen. Dazu eine zart-knusprige Kartoffel-KĂ€se-Krokette, die ein kleines Meisterwerk der Einfachheit war. Begleitet wurde dies von einem perfekt gebackenen französischen Baguette mit hausgemachter KrĂ€uterbutter – schlicht, aber in einer QualitĂ€t, die schwer zu ĂŒberbieten ist. Ein zusĂ€tzlich gewĂ€hlter Gang bestand aus einem frittierten Blini mit mildem Kaviar, Zitronenzesten und Creme Fraiche – simpel, aber die Aromen und die Balance waren nahezu perfekt. Die folgenden GĂ€nge reichten von einer intensiven HĂ€hnchen-Terrine mit HaselnĂŒssen, Äpfeln und SenfblĂ€ttern bis hin zu einem Hauptgang aus Kabeljau, begleitet von einem klassischen Tomatensalat. Jedes Gericht war stimmig komponiert und handwerklich auf höchstem Niveau zubereitet. Besonders interessant war die Kombination aus Porcetta-Roulade, Salsa verde und gegrilltem Pfirsich – ein Hauptgang, der trotz der mĂ€chtigen Einzelkomponenten in Kombination eine harmonische Geschmacksexplosion bot. Zum Abschluss gab es eine KĂ€seplatte mit hausgemachtem Lunch-KĂ€se und mildem BlauschimmelkĂ€se sowie ein Honigeis mit FrĂŒchten und leicht sĂŒĂŸsaurem Sud. Auch die abschließenden Butterkekse mit Lemoncurd und Himbeeren waren schlichtweg ein Gedicht. Zusammengefasst: Das Kirkeby Kro schafft es, auf hohem Niveau zu kochen, ohne abgehoben zu wirken. Die GĂ€nge sind nicht ĂŒbertrieben kompliziert, aber in Geschmack und Konsistenz auf den Punkt gebracht. Man wird gut gesĂ€ttigt, erlebt KreativitĂ€t und handwerkliche Perfektion – und das in einer entspannten, unprĂ€tentiösen AtmosphĂ€re. Gesamtbewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen – Eine hervorragende Adresse fĂŒr Gourmets, die in entspannter AtmosphĂ€re genießen möchten.

Had our set lunch at this Two Michelin Stars and the venue was warm and cosy, it felt like having a meal at someone’s home. The service was good especially when someone mistakenly took our umbrella, they were kind enough to gave us one so thank you. 😊 The food was good, the ingredients was fresh for sure. The little negative feedback I have was the menu doesn’t seem special. Probably just my personal expectation for two Michelin. Overall, we did had a good lunch. Here are the photos I took.

Had our set lunch at this Two Michelin Stars and the venue was warm and cosy, it felt like having a meal at someone’s home. The service was good especially when someone mistakenly took our umbrella, they were kind enough to gave us one so thank you. 😊 The food was good, the ingredients was fresh for sure. The little negative feedback I have was the menu doesn’t seem special. Probably just my personal expectation for two Michelin. Overall, we did had a good lunch. Here are the photos I took.

Was looking forward to two-star dining at Henne which we had visited before and enjoyed very much. |This visit was not at all successful.|The review has not so much to do with the dining and food but what we experienced afterwards. It so happened that my partner got sick from eating in the restaurant. Very sick, with very explicit symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea. Clearly from something in one of the dishes. This was also the case for an elderly couple whom we met the next morning at breakfast. The symptoms, reactions and timing was the same.|It was when we informed the restaurant about this the next morning that things really got disappointing. Everyone we met that day from staff never acknowledge that this illness had anything to do with our visit to the restaurant (which it clearly had, as we had not eaten any other place that day) We were only met with comments that we probably drank too much wine(!) (which we didn’t as we only ordered a half wine menu) or that we we®re probably not used to eating gourmet meals(!) We were shocked over the arrogant and patronizing way we were meet, and the underlying assumption that we probably were trying to get the stay for free by crying food poisoning. |I do not understand how a two-star restaurant can live with such poor and arrogant treatment of customers getting sick from eating in the restaurant. After having contacted management, the same arguments were mentioned however in a politer tone. Still, no one from Henne Kirkeby Kro took responsibility for the ruined stay nor did they in any way apologize to us.|We are left with an unbelievable disappointing experience. We had expected more from that restaurant (first we had expected to not get sick from the food) and can simply not recommend anyone going there. |Visit instead one of the (now) many other Michelin restaurants Denmark now offers and avoid being patronized – and sick from the...

Normally I wouldn’t consider reviewing an experience like this, specifically since professionals have already done it, but I feel compelled to do it on behalf of my in-laws that just offered me and my partner this supposedly incredible experience that hardly reached any of our expectations. ||The intimidating two star reputation sets up the experience to a great and exciting start which unfortunately is never really fully accomplished. |The food is certainly good but once compared to many others one, or even none, Michelin star places lacks that extra special feeling that you would expect. Adding to the disappointment is the service. It shouldn’t be too much to ask that the waiter knows how to simply make a drink when the value of that drink certainly includes a high service fee (at a second attempt to make a g&t, not even ice was included in the drink). The extravagant decor also reflects the inconsistency of the place where kitsch meets modern in an attempt to be cool and different, paring expensive pieces with very blend and doll designs. Even the HĂ€stens bed is then furnished with bad duvets and pillows proving once again the lack of understanding of luxury and comfort. Expensive is certainly not a synonym of quality or exclusivity and in the case of Henne Kirkeby Kro that applies to both the food and the stay. ||All and all, the experience didn’t fulfill the expectations and stayed far behind from other similar places, like Falsled, Dyvig, Frederiksminde, Dragsholm, so much so that even the table next to us had to ask ‘why the two stars’ which in the waiter’s opinion are justified by the little details such as ‘the washcloths in the bathroom’
 there’s a constant attempt to be luxurious, extravagant and ‘expensive’ (word of the same waiter) but it always falls short due to the lack of personality and clear point of view. I certainly rate the experience two stars
