I stayed here with my then fiancé, now husband(!!!), for our courthouse wedding in Ribe. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The owners, a couple named Suzette & Bjarne, are incredibly friendly, personable and eager to help you out with anything you might need... Bjarne even prepared a super lovely late night meal for us on the night we arrived because we didn't realise that most places would be closed. Bjarne & Suzette also made our wedding day extra special by organising champagne and chocolate covered strawberries (Suzette is a sommelier and paired everything perfectly)! Bjarne & Suzette have taken great care in how they have decorated- each room is themed differently (we stayed in the Karen Blixen suite and it was even better than we were expecting!) and the whole hotel is decorated with furniture found around the globe. Every corner of every room really does tell a story and it all feels so personal and charming. Not to mention, the bed was incredibly comfortable. We couldn't have enjoyed it more and we are so happy that out of all the places around, we chose to stay here. Can HIGHLY recommend it to anyone visiting the area and we hope to be able to return someday!!! ALSO- the breakfast is SO GOOD... and the products (shampoo, conditioner and soap) in each room smell lovely and are all natural products. And, there is a small spa on site if you are in the mood for a massage! We will be taking advantage of that next time we...
Read moreWe were looking for a place to stay somewhere in or near Ribe and came across the pictures and reviews of the Postgarden. The rooms looked so nice compared to other options closer to town so we decided to give the Postgarden a try. Their website makes it easy to select the type of room that suits your needs and they provide pictures of most of the rooms which are very helpful. When we arrived were were greeted pleasantly and immediately felt welcome here. The pictures are very representative of the modern, clean and beautifully decorated rooms. Their facilities are some of the best we experienced in our 12 day visit to Denmark.
We had a wonderful room with a four poster bed, refrigerator, microwave and tea kettle, and wonderfully appointed bathroom with a shower and a spa tub. Our room was so nice and cozy with a spacious sitting area that we opted to stay in our room and enjoy the hotel most of the time. This is in a very small town so there is not much else to do in the immediate vicinity, but there is a grocery store across the street and it seems most rooms have some sort of kitchenette. There is also a fine dining / gourmet restaurant called Ribehøj that was only a 10 minute drive where we dined which was...
Read moreA very nice small hotel in a very dull place. This hotel is the only place to be in Holsted. A hotel with character. Service was perfect, very nice breakfast. The room we had was a small suite with design fitted for an airplane pilot. Good to have a small kitchen with micro-own and refrigerator. We also had a balcony we used in the sunset. Wifi worked ok, but my 4g was in fact better. The breakfast was served in a large garage with design as an airplane garage, very cool. And of course, a real Danish breakfast was available. Dinner at the hotel restaurant “Blue Train” in the evening was also very good, except from the beer in the restaurant – it was a bit bitter, but that just my taste.||We will be back...
