If you want to go to a gloried youth hostel, then stay at this "hotel". Everything about this place screams BASIC! That is the running theme and sole objective of this place! Overpriced with a very BASIC breakfast menu - the cornflakes didn't taste like cornflakes. They don't even attempt to provide a warm breakfast. The rooms are extremely bare and BASIC. Providing a kettle with tea/coffee with some nibbles is a luxury; there is only ONE iron and board that is shared among all the rooms both on the ground and first floor. Reception and the other services all close at 9pm! SOME of the staff don't have manners to match their job position. Very rude and unhelpful and a let down for the staff that are hospitable. You will get the bare minimum customer service from this "hotel"....not worth your hard earned money. It doesn't deserve any stars because there are better hotels in Kolding and Vejen but if you're happy with low expectations and standards and don't mind seeing your money being wasted on BASIC accommodation, then stay here. Otherwise, STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE TO AVOID...

Public areas were very warm and welcoming with some delightful individual Christmas decorations. Had room on first floor overlooking woods. Room immaculately clean with comfortable sitting area. Breakfast in restaurant which has a good view and is open all day which was very useful as restaurants seem non existent in nearest town Vejen!! Limited menu but food very good. All staff were friendly and welcoming||Thoroughly enjoyed stay and will certainly stay...
Read moreJeg var til brunch arrangement på Skibelund i fredags. Jeg er veganer og dette blev oplyst allerede da arrangementet blev booket, lang tid i forvejen. Der blev lovet at de kunne lave noget mad til mig. Der var brunch buffet til de andre, mens jeg fik serveret en tallerken med dampede meget groftskårne grøntsager på en bund af olie og lidt salt. For det første var det uspiseligt. For det andet havde det intet med brunch at gøre. For det tredje var det et langt arrangement. Hvordan kan man som kok få sig selv til at servere sådan noget, og tænke at nogen bliver mæt af så lidt? Jeg klagede til nogle virkelig ubehøvlede tjenere, som informerede mig om at de altid bare serverede grøntsager til veganere. Det er da en falliterklæring. Hvis man ikke kan lave vegansk mad, så sig det. Og lad være med at tage imod betaling for vegansk mad, når man ikke formår at levere det. Jeg nævnte at man da kunne have lavet baked beans, købt nogle veganske pølser, stegt nogle kartofler, lavet nogle veganske pandekager, købt/lavet noget spread, købt noget vegansk yoghurt med granola, osv osv. Der er rigeligt med muligheder. Jeg fik så modvilligt tjeneren til at komme med noget andet. Det blev perlebyg med svampe. ISKOLDT, ingen bønner, tofu, køderstatning eller lignende. Det smagte mildest talt ikke godt, men jeg var ret sulten. Mens de andre så fik ostebord og kage, fik jeg serveret verdens mindste muffin med lidt bær til. Til kaffen, hvor de andre fik lagkage og småkager, fik jeg 2 franske vafler. De smagte faktisk ok, men det var jo hverken lagkage eller nok. Det var mildest talt en ommer! Den eneste trøst var at de andre gæster heller ikke var vilde med...
